went to this restaurant on Thursday 14th June. Usually it's great but today.... Starters were nice, but the steaks were underdone. They insist that they "present the steaks medium rare" but they were raw - and my husband likes rare steaks! We sent them back ( we weren't the only ones I noticed) and they came back marginally better. The puddingw was lovely though - home made ice creams.

And on to the waiting staff. One was very attentive and sweet, but the males seem to have been paying a lot of attention to the female diners without partners! I'm not a prude, but we did end up waiting a while for attention.

Very dissapointing when this used to be such a great place.

The food here is excellent - which surprises many people, perhaps because of the location or the tie-in name (it's next to the Clapham Picturehouse). I've eaten here five or six times and the food has always been absolutely wonderful. Tuna done perfectly rare as requested, fillet steak which was fantastic quality with really interesting and nicely done garlicky vegetables, and a really quite gorgeous asparagus starter. Service is friendly and fast and the cocktails are amazing!

Ate here on new year's eve and had a tremendous time; and as a result of that I dined there again this week. Found the food to be just right; really well cooked, spot on with seasoning, fresh tasty and good portions. Beef wellington and monkfish excellent, more than enough in fact. Service very friendly too which makes a nice change-some of the restaurants you go to these days let themselves down on this point. I really like this restaurant. The food is very honest; there is an unusually good wine selection with a lot of stuff that I've seen in some serious restaurants. And the atmosphere is great. Oh good music too. Only gripe and a small one - desserts. Good flavours but a bit boring. Thanks. Gillespie

Really under-rated, this place. Not well known in Clapham, it probably serves the best food. Forget gastro - this is the place for genuinely good cuisine in SW4. The portions are healthy and the food quality good. I have only two reservations: it is not cheap and there is always ba very annoying DVD playing on a big screen in the background. If they got rid of that, the marks would be even higher.

The food here is good, but the portions are very small considering the prices, and my steak was overcooked (I asked for medium rare but it was almost well done, in my opinion) and my other half was told that the monkfish on the menu was actually cod, which seemed a little strange.

The service was excellent, in general and the wine was good, if a little pricey.

Overall, this is a decent restaurant but they could probably do with increasing the portion sizes and cutting the prices a little.

Ate here last Saturday night without booking and it was great. Service very attentive and food was beautifully presented, generous portion sizes and food was delicious. No problem for veggies - the polenta was divine! Nice atmosphere too and not too noisy or smoky.

I went to this restaurant with a group of friends after seeing a movie next door.

The food was good, and the choices catered for most tastes. The service was excellent and the staff were polite and charming. Reasonably priced as well. What a change from Gastro's!

I've just reviewed a restaurant in this street but i really wanted to tell everyone about this one; always thought that the sequel looked a bit daunting to walk into but I'm really pleased I did. I've been to most places in Clapham and i have to say that this is the best food by far. I had a superb beef fillet that had to be tasted to be believed; everything was excellent, really good and I cant wait to go back. Well done to those in charge there.

This was my second trip to The Sequel and I have to say I enjoyed every minute of it. From booking to receiving the bill, the service was excellent. The food was excellent and extremely well presented, with perfect sized proportions.

The atmosphere was pleasant with good lounge music. The only downside was that it was a bit smoky and I could imagine it being rather noisy on a weekend.

I would definitely recommend a visit.
