Bella Italia (Leicester Square)

We stumbled across this little restaurant last september. A lovely warm evening, we ate outside. We had a really nice meal and will return this september for a special evening with our family. For the money it was good value and the food was as good as any other Italian restaurant we have tried.

We had a good meal for a reasonable price and the service was very pleasant...maybe we were lucky in having a very pleasant waitress (although other Bella Italias have been also good) and we enjoyed the meal very much.

Location is great, right down town, and if a warm summer evening, eating outside actually on Leicestre Square must be very entertaining.

A good place, good value for money...the food is OK.

Although I have often had good meals at other branches of this chain I would say AVOID this one! We were given a dreadful table by the door & spent the whole meal either freezing with the door open to accommodate the queue from outside or having them lean into our food whilst they waited to be seated. We were given the wrong drinks then the starter arrived cold. The main course arrived on piping hot plates but the food itself was very cold & had obviously been left to stand for sometime. This was pointed out to the staff who took the food away, microwaved it beyond taste, then thrust the plate back without a word. There was no genuine apology & although the cost of the returned food was deduced & we were eventually given a discount - we had had to ask for this rather than have it offered. Admittedly, the restaurant was very busy on a Saturday, but we left feeling that we had been run along a conveyor belt and the staff attitude was very much 'take it or leave it' before someone else does.
