I went to this pub all 3 nights i was staying in London - that in itself must be a recommendation, no?!! The staff were excellent especially as they were rushed off their feet - Jo you are now my all time favourite bargirl!! Every pub needs a Jo! I dont know if management has changed or anything since the other reviews here, but my steak was one of the best i have had (and that is a fair few!!) - couldnt have been cooked better!
If i am ever back in that area i know just where i will be heading!! Oh and if you like real ales you will be more than happy too!

This is a re-review of one I did in December, as we had two poorly cooked burgers and small portions this week, however extras were swiftly delivered on our fairly reasonable complaint.
Although often on here it is usual to see contradictory reviews, although not often by the same person!

I have to disagree with the previous comments. I was there for quiz night on Monday 6th February. Good pub, great quiz, friendly bar staff - except the food was AWFUL! For nearly £8 I was offered 4 potato wedges and a very burned cheese burger which was less satifying than a McDonalds cheese burger. My firend's burger was equally as bad. When we complained the waiter begrudgingly brought us plate of 5 potato wedges. It seemed like the management are happy to serve substandard portions with little regard for quality and customer satisfaction. I'll only be drinking the beer in future.

For a pub quiz you don't expect quality dining - but they handle both - good burgers, a mean steak and ale pie, and plenty of snack options with a top selected well priced wine list.
Not the cheapest, but with a great atmosphere, a highly friendly and paradoxily certainly over-worked staff. They have a new menu every day.
Even if we didn't win the quiz; there is always next week!
