I was served this evening in the Putney Nando's by a rude waiter, I didn't realise that I could get a free quarter chicken with my third order with my loyalty card until I had already ordered.
The waiter spent 10 minutes arguing with me and telling me that I was wrong and lecturing me about making sure I understand how their loyalty card works. Having run a successful business for 10 years I was somewhat disgusted by this guys attitude, has he never heard the tenet 'the customer is always right?
He eventually conceded that the till could process a receipt after lying about this and trying to fob me off with ringing head office then said in a huffy voice 'can I serve other customers then' - his lovely way of asking me to move out of the way.
I proceeded to watch him scowling at other customers as I ate my cold food. I won't be going back to Nando's due to this experience, which is a shame as I always spoke well of it up to now.
Nando's would do well to cut this grumpy youth from their store staff to prevent any other customers having to deal with his awful customer manner and terrible attitude.
