Mimi E Coco

On New Years Eve this year we took 2 very good friends to MIMI E COCO in Cheam, what a mistake this turned out to be, having booked over a month in advance we were put in a very overcrowded / busy walkthrough entrance, the menu was very limited and the main course of steak was not avaliable but a substitute steak was offered and we were assured we would not know any different, 3 of the substitute steaks were inedible and as a result of this were not eaten, at no point in the evening did anybody ask if everything was o/k, they had obviously packed as many people into the restaurant as possible, the staff were clearly overstretched and as a result of this we as customers had to suffer.

We wrote a letter of complaint voicing our views 2 weeks ago and to date they have not had the decency to reply, my advice to anyone thinking of using this restaurant is DON'T!!!

Tried this restaurant for the first time on Friday evening after seeing the rave reviews. Unfortunately I cannot concur with some of the comments. I agree that the staff are friendly, the atmosphere excellent, only to be let down by the poor quality of the food .. My mother's and my wife's starters of crab and mango were good as was my ravioli. My wife's veal escalope was thin, dry and tasteless and the tomato sauce with the accompanying spaghetti was thin and watery. My mother's lamb chops were extremely fatty and gristly and apparently tasted bland. My calves' liver with bacon was very good however. So a slightly disappointing introduction. All very rustic with little finesse. We will try again and choose differently.

Went for dinner on Thursday night and can recommend. Atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming and the service is friendly. I chose from the specials board and my starter and main course were delicious. Puddings were average but perhaps I made a wrong choice.

Overall delicious and can't wait to go back!

I'm a local resident of Cheam and I can proudly say that I've had the pleasure of dining at Mimi E Coco's on several occassions.

It's by far the BEST Italian Restaurant in Surrey. The food is to die for, the service is excellent and the ambiance is just perfect. The staff are always very friendly, polite and approachable.

For any occassion, celebration, anniversary Mimmi E Coco is the place to go!

I'd like to comment on the person who (Left no name,!) Wasn't going to darken their doors again!, The wife and I have been going to this restaurant for over a year on a near weekly basis,we have never got a wrong meal and the staff are always curtious, the owner Fabrizio is always checking the clients,making sure they are happy but is never intrusive. Salvatore the entertainer is entertaining.

I have been there several times over the last two years and have nothing but good stuff to say about this place. It's most definitely one of my favourites - if not THE FAVOURITE! I was originally introduced to the location by a friend and have held it in high regard ever since. I took my daughter there for her 16th birthday dinner treat. They paid her a lot of attention and she lapped it up! I took various lady friends there for treats and birthdays - never anything but happy comments.

This is a great restaurant with an excellent, warm atmosphere and reliably good food every time. Be sure to make a reservation if you want to get in.

I have been here half a dozen times since moving to london 8 months ago and i cannot recommend it highly enough. I eat out with clients a lot so have been to some very nice restaurants but this is one of my favourites.

The staff and owners are so lovely and if they can give you something, they will. We are forever ordering things that are not on the menu and they don't mind in the slightest, that is service!

And for those who have made negative comments on the singing guy, it is an Italian restaurant, owned by Italians and he is an Italian man singing Italian songs! brilliant! he is sweet and sings and plays very well and it helps create the atmosphere. I have been on romantic dates (inc a first date!) and with family and friends and it is perfect for all occasions!

I am in fact going on friday night for my boyfriend's father's 60th and i can't wait!

I think it depends what you are looking for, this is a fantastic place to enjoy life and have a ball... the singer is also fantastic and if you are not happy I am sure you could get a full refund of the big fat Zero paid for the entertainment. Take it for what it is and relax and enjoy.

Food is excellent and the service spot on. The staff could not try harder to ensure you have a great evening and in my opinion it's the best value for money around.

Oh Yeah, good food, excellent atmosphere and not and arm and a leg, only drawback on Friday and Saturday is the guitarist/singer, (not good at either) and quite embarrassing when he comes and stands by your table.
