Yum Yum was our destination for a family get together and perfect it was, in every way. The atmosphere was just right, lively without being overbearing for a group consisting of family members between 18 and 52. The service was excellent and one tiny complant we had (re a drink) as managed with absolute discretion and speed. The food was divine, particularly the shared platters which gave us all a chance to try new things. I cannot wait to return with my partner to this gorgeous gem of a find. I am recommending it to everyone who thought they could never have a glamorous evening out in Stoke Newington!

Very stylish in a Hakkasan kind of way. The starters, especially the seafood platter are fantastic. The curries are tasty but VERY rich. Had an iffy steamed seabass on our last visit, but everything else we've tried has been great.
Top tip, don't sit in the "oriental" area where you have to take your shoes off, it's quite uncomfortable and the novelty value soon wears off!

We booked a table for 9.30pm on Saturday, when we arrived at the restaurant at 9.30pm and we were asked to wait at the bar before we were seated. The decor is really great and the bar area was busy and looked like a good place to have a pre-dinner drink. However, it must have been a bit too busy as it took 25 minutes before we managed to get served! The bar staff were working fast but there were too few to handle the crowd. It was a further 30 mins before we were seated, nearly an hour after we arrived. Next we ordered, I asked for another beer which failed to arrive. Then half my meal failed to show and I had to ask several times before it actually found its way to the table, by which time my friend had finished her meal the other half of mine was cold. They reheated it for me but I could virtually hear the *ping* of the microwave from my seat. When they brought the bill I was told that they would waive the (optional) gratuity as compensation. Thanks! On my way out I complained to the manager who, rather than apologise, gave me a lecture about how they were new to the premises and things still needed improving - they've been open 6 months and have moved from previous premises where they had a restaurant for over 10 years. The restaurant itself is beautifully designed but the restaurant is too busy for the staff to offer any level of service. The food was ok but quite greasy and not nearly as good as anything that I have eaten in Thailand. My basil and chilli prawns had no chillis in them. I wouldn't go back here again, I'll stick to Thai Corner Cafe down the road. Much nicer.

Must say I was very dissapointed by my experience at Yum Yum. Beautifulo restaurant but clearly too much emphasis has been placed on the decor and not enough on the quality of food. Firstly, ordered some Prawn Crackers which arrived both cold and stale tasting, which were sent back immediatley. When they retuned they has clearly just been nuked in the microwave. Not happy. Then the starters finally arrived and they had given me the completely wrong one. Waited an absolute age to receive my correct starter. Wouldn't have minded but the service had just started and the restaurant was pretty empty. Onto the main dishes. Ordered Scallops and basil which was a big error. I could have had more enjoyment out of munching on cardboard. My partner and I did pass our complaints onto the waitress but she just nodded and smiled and walked off. Not sure her understanding of English was so good. I certainly will not be going back in the near future.

This restaurant is certainly pleasing to the eye. Came here with ten guests for my birthday, and although we were fairly tanked up and took longer than normal to select our dishes, the staff remained very friendly and patient with us. We were not hurried in the slightest, and the food was of very good quality indeed. Great choice of starters and very authentic cuisine. The beers were Ice cold and the wine served at the correct temperature. the list is also very extensive and the pricing very good. I love my Thai cuisine and Yum Yum is certainly in my Top 3. If you haven't been .. Go!!!

Yum Yum has always set a high standard, and since it's move has added a stylish, modern environment to the experience. Much larger than their previous restaurant, the excellent design keeps an intimate feel and the friendly service has maintained its swiftness. The menu has also expanded it's offering. My only reservation is in the two times I've been since the move, not every dish ordered has been great. While the duck curry was delightful, the squid main dish was over cooked and tough while the papaya salad has seemingly shrunk. But to be honest these are small criticisms to what has been a consistently high standard of food, service and environment from the restaurant.

To try something different I decided to visit YumYum for lunch with my work colleagues, it was amazing!!
The food was simply outstanding & has definitely set a new standard in Thai food. The staff were all polite and very attentive. The garden was beautiful and the perfect place to enjoy lunch in the sun, it was hard to believe we were still on Stoke Newington high street!
Although we ate outside, the restaurant itself is stunning. I can’t wait to go back in the evening.

If you don't like this place, you simply don't understand food. Try a burger bar, as that is probably closer to your level. The building itself is amazing and it is an outstanding addition to Stoke Newington. You simply have to see it to believe it. I took some Thai clients there once and they described it has the best food they've had outside of Thailand. Simply brilliant!
