The Stonemasons Arms

I recently had a meal at the Stonemasons Arms and was pleasantly surprised. First impressions were of a quaint gastro pub with a slightly 'arty' feel to it. The service was prompt and efficient, the food was possibly the best ive had in the area and they had a decent selection of beers/wine.
The prices were a little steep yet the quality of the food more than made up for that. Definitely somewhere i would recommend to friends wanting a quite meal or a small get-together.

I live 1 minute away from the Stonemasons Arms, and I used to go there a lot, but I won't go anymore. The food is still good, but the manager has gone crazy with prices!! In the last year the steak has gone from 15 to 20 quid, and same thing for all the other dishes.. today I went there for a pint, and I had the brilliant idea of asking some peanuts, and surprise!! 3 quid for a tiny portion of disgusting peanuts!!! they are trying to make it a posh place.. I hope the other local pubs won't follow Stonemasons Arms in this price madness.

Our first and last visit
Ventured out for Sunday lunch and had our doubts when we walked into a near empty dining area.
Bluetac held the standard lamp together next to our table and plug sockets on the walls were dirty.
The meal (one beef and one lamb sunday roast) was presented beautifully, however it ended there, the meat in both dishes was terrible. Tasteless and fatty, it looked a poor quality cut and that was on both pieces of meat.
The bottle of Red was the only saving grace but then we found it further down the road for quarter of the price!!
Not once were we asked if we wre enjoying our meal or even ventured towards once the meal was in front of us. Considering there was only one other table with customers it was terrible.

I have had dinner in the stonemasons arms many times over the last 3 years and because of the quality of the food I think it is one of the best gastropub in Hammersmith. The ingredients are fresh and the dishes vary from classic (steak) to those less usual for a pub (like ostirch). Also, the menu changes on a daily basis so that every time it is possible to taste something new. The pub itself is very cosy and warm. Unfortunately, trecently the prices have gone up a lot . Too much. This is why two years ago you had to reserve table on saturday night and today it looks always almost empty.

Excellent local gastro - great staff and a very nice, ever changing selection of food. They have a good selection of draft beers and some excellent wines. On Thursdays and Fridays this is where you'll find some of the Hammersmith arty set as well as some locals just chatting.
The burgers are great - as is the fish.
Would recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal in the area.

Eaten here twice and been very happy on both occasions. The food, service and atmosphere are all very good and pretty good value for money too. Would recommend it.
