For foodies. A proper grown up restaurant serving wonderful, delicious food. If you understand the difference between wild and farmed, if you care that your lemon sole in line caught, if slow roasting is more important to you than packet food, if English hand picked strawberries in your dessert mean something, then i whole heartedly recommend Savoro.
The food is 2 rosette for the price of Pizza Express, they offer a lovely selection of wine by the glass. My table of 4 averaged out at £32.00 per head and we had 3 courses from the a la carte.
Service was faultless, not too much but just enough. Other local restaurant are good, this one really is in a different category. Like La Trompette in Chiswick, punching high, achieving standard.
Lovely concept with the adjoing bedrooms, we stayed the night and enjoyed an early lunch at £10 for 2 courses, and i had the halibut main course...incredible value and should be busy, but only 2 other tables. The Wednesday night before the restaurant was full, with great atmosphere.
I live 20 miles away and will be going back next week for dinner.

Savoro restaurant is probably the best restaurant in the area. The food is always cooked toperfection, the staff friendly and professional and the athmosphere great.
Haven discovered this restaurant only a couple of months ago I was suprised to see that Barnet has a restaurant as good as Savoro.
The last time I've had a goats's cheese tart which was delicious followed by lamb with dauphinoise and french beans. Sound boring? It is not trust me. Just an explosion of perfectlly matched flavours ,from good honest , not messed around food.
Although the portions were very generous and I didn't feel that I could have anything else, I had to try the sticky toffee pudding: wow, the best I've ever had.
And the price: £ 76.00 for a meal for two including wine and service. It doesn't get better than that.
Try this restaurant and I am sure that you won't regret it.

I usually go to this restaurant in the week and arrive before 8pm to get the early bird menu at £11.95 for 2 courses or a little extra for 3 courses. The food is always perfectly cooked, made fresh including the ice cream with real vanilla extract. I went on Saturday for lunch which is £9.95 for 2 courses and again was excellent. I am a real foody and have been to some of the best restaurants but for this price I am very impressed. I have never eaten of the full price menu which is a lot more expensive but I will definitely go but I would save this for a Saturday night out.
I have been to the new Chez Gerard in Barnet and St James in Bushey which were both very busy compared to Savoro but neither can be compared to the quality of Savoro. Savoro is miles ahead of the competition in respect to food and service and all 3 restaurants entertain the same budget.

I was very disappointed with our recent visit to Savoro.
It's normally my favourite restaurant. So much so, that we save it for special occasions, then rave on about it's excellent food and service to our friends for months after our meal.
However they have changed their menu! It is no longer modern european food with a french edge. It's now just another greek restaurant in north london!
Their service is still outstanding and the decor, atmosphere and prices are still unchanged. But gone forever are the handmade ice creams and special touches that earned it such a great reputation in the first place.

This has to be one of the best restaurants out of london.
My smoked quail with slow cooked belly of pork and pickled beetroot was inspired. This was followed by the best roasted cod with smoked haddock beignets. The Peterhead cod and chips was proclaimed the best he had ever eaten and beautifully presented.
The crispy hoisin duck was a special on the day and made my top ten of best dishes. The standard here is high.
The ice creams are homemade and the choice is large. The waiter allowed us a tasting plate of 9 small scoops. When it arrived i thought i was looking at a picture. The ice creams are a bit special. Wensday night was busy a yet service was considerate and friendly. For the first time, I can actually say we have a great local restaurant.
The Black Angus 38day rib roast at 13.95 for two course is bargin city, only prob was that i couldnt get a table this sunday.

We had a lovely meal with friends at Savoro on a Saturday evening. The curried lobster starter was a favorite and the home made ice creams were a treat. I had the pandan, lemon grass and apple which worked well together. The food quality is probably up there with some of the best London restaurants, a real find for Barnet. Lovely manager and staff ensured we were well looked after. Will definitely be visiting Savoro soon.

We went for an evening meal to Savoro on Saturday full of great expectations as the restaurant’s reviews were excellent.
The atmosphere was quite up market so as the menu. The first disappointment however was the wine. We’ve ordered two glasses of white and it arrived warm (!).
The starters were well presented but my trout was overcooked and Parma ham which meant to be crispy was rubbery.
I didn’t have much luck with the main course either. I’ve ordered a risotto. To be fare the flavours were not bad but the risotto was stodgy and looked like porridge in a school’s canteen. As it was lending heavily in my stomach I’ve manage to go through only quarter of the plate.
This didn’t go unnoticed and we were asked if everything was ok. I’ made the comment about the quality of the risotto. The waitress started with “Well, risotto is very difficult to put right (???) but fortunately added “..but they should”.
She also asked us if we wanted her to have a word with the manager. Sure enough we’ve said that we didn’t. Who wants to add more fuss to already not very pleasant evening?
Whenever we had a situation like this before, waiters talked to management discreetly and if the restaurant considered that the dish was not up to their desired standard they didn’t charge.
According to our bill Savoro was quite happy with the quality of their food, the bill came to £71 including 10% service charge.
All in all you can’t fall the restaurant for trying and many interesting and creative ideas, but there are so many little things that fail them and frankly make huge difference between professional and honest cooking and “pretentious crup”.

What a great restaurant.
Barnet..Hadley Wood...Seems to have lots of money. So why are there no good restaurants. I have lived here for 3 years and the choice is sad. Horrible pizza, pasta, kebab and chinese. Nothing great.
But now we have SAVORO....thank you. Fresh day caught fish, homemade breads, sourced and naturally reared meat. Exciting cooking.Good cooking. Great kitchen in Barnet is almost unthinkable after 3 years of trekking into town.
I will still go to Locatelli and to Scotts but really not as often.
On the tuesday I went it was quiet, a few other tables. I was worried for the future of my newly discoved haven. Went again on Thursday and it was nearly full.Every meal has been perfect. Lovely wine list too. Amazing Halibut.
Savoro, long may you continue. Great service from friendly, knowledgable staff. Handsome manager poured my party free glass of champagne and made my parents feel very special.
To ice the cake, I can walk home after having one too many glasses of champagne.

I have just been to Savoro and enjoyed one of the best meals i have had in a very long time.
The restaurant is small and very chic. The homemade breads are delicious and served free of charge with a wonderful Olive paste.
We received a lovely welcome and the service throughout the night was excellent. I had the bouillabaise of fish to start and my wife had the lobster salad. My guest had the scallops and his wife tried the tuna sashimi. The food was delicious, everything was fresh and perfectly seasoned. We loved the presentation. My guest commented that it all looked like real food, good portions done with some panache.
It really is so nice to find a really high standard in Barnet.
For mains we had grilled skate, which was a stunning piece of super fresh, sweet fleshed fish with some of the best chips. We were explained that all fish come in fresh on the day and nothing is held overnight.
A beautiful fillet steak, Black Angus..lovingly seared and melt in the mouth.
Roasted cod fantastic and a slow cooked duck with chilli polenta was mouthwatering. Best ice cream in london and a delicious treacle tart.
A lovely 2002 Pinot noir. A few glasses of Sauternes, coffee and still under 40 pounds per head. Truely amazing.
Only complaint was the people at next table who were rude to waiters and staff throughout the night . The staff handled them with true class.

I went to Savoro on the back of the reviews that I read here and was disappointed.
Although I could not fault my starter of calamari and scallop with squid ink risotto, the main course of grilled skate was very average and uninventive. It did not taste disgusting but was entirely bog-standard- serving it with vey salty pont-neuf and a squishy tastless grilled tomato did nothing for the fish. My friend ordered the rib of beef which really was disgusting- tough, tastless and badly seasoned.
If I ever do come back, which is unlikely, I will be sure to opt for something off the a la carte menu rather than off the grill.
