The most expensive bill I have ever been handed by some smarmy waiter in my life. You’d think I had been eating Caviar and sipping Crystal all night. An absolute stripe and liberty.
Certainly not a good experience for me and my family and certainly will never go back here!
6 of us sat down to eat here for my father in laws birthday. So we were expecting a nice meal for a special occasion. When we arrived on a Saturday night the restaurant was practically empty, the reason for this soon became apparent. It must have been because of the ‘average’ quality meals being offered at a very high price at poor waiter service. Glorified pub food, and seriously nothing more.
This ‘average’ dining experience was brought to a dramatic end when we were asked to pay the bill…… £500 plus 10% service charge (that’s £50 for the waiter! The cheek of it). That’s £91 a head. ‘’But this cant be right? We could have all gone on holiday for this price’’… But oh no with most of the meals priced at £30 each plus the price for a few microwave vegetables this all added up.
Unbelievable, you could have eaten at the Ivy or any one of Mr Ramsays restaurants in London. All for the same price 6 of us paid for a 3 course meal and some plonk.
In summary:
The Crème Brule was frozen in the middle
My Lamb shank was overcooked – and was obviously prepared by a chef that had never cooked lamb before
The waiters had attitude and certainly did not deserve their 10% service charge
The décor is out of date
The most expensive bill any of us had ever seen
This place should be burned down
Very disappointed
Thinking of giving it a go? Don’t do it. Go Pizza Express or Zizzi’s. It’s a similar ‘average’ meal and at least you will know the meal won’t be a rip off.
