We had our wedding reception here in July and had a fabulous experience. Neil (the manager) was relaxed and flexible, not batting an eyelid when I said I wanted steak frites for 50 people! The food was fantastic. Everybody's steak was beautifully cooked and the chips were hot and crispy and replenished regularly throughout the meal.
The staff were amazing (we've eaten here before and were so impressed with the staff it was the main reason we chose St Germain for our wedding reception). All day and late into the night the team at St Germain were bright, friendly and accommodating. In fact, our guests are still talking about the food and service weeks later.
When you add to that the reasonable costs it was the perfect venue. Thank you!

As a Barbican resident and thus within a 10-15 minute walking distance I have been to St Germain now half a dozen times since it opened and never failed to have excellent food and anyone I have taken there - social and business - has also been most impressed. With Smithfield around the corner there are lots of good restaurants to choose from, yet this is definitely my favourite in a very competitive area for restaurateurs. Service has always been good to excellent and food first class and reasonably priced

Been now twice to St Germain. Lovely restaurant with friendly and efficient staff, spacious dining room. Great value for money, especially their Monday 50% off deal. The food is generally very good, the pigeon salad starter and the Steak Tartar are truly amazing. Chips could be warmer, but taste nice. I feel that perhaps fish is not so much a strength as St. Germain, my friends had fish dishes on two occasions - once as a starter and once as a main and there were okay, but not brilliant, also not very warm. The sweets are brilliant, I really recommend the Crème Brulee – it is amazing.

Went to St Germain for a last minute dinner and cocktails and boy, was it great! The bar staff are amazingly friendly - a lovely Aussie woman was great with suggestions and altering cocktails so that every drink we ordered was perfect! She was also very friendly and took time to chat to her customers.
The food was really good too - great value for money. My friend had the prix fixe menu, I had a la carte, and both meals were delicious and beautifully presented.
It was a Friday night and the atmosphere was lovely - not too crowded so conversation flowed easily without needing to shout, unlike most bars on a Friday night.

St Germain was recommended to me by a friend 'in the know', so we arrived with high expectations. Our pre-dinner cocktails in the bar were fantastic. The Sazerac was made with care and attention and the cocktail of the day, a watermelon and basil mojito was refreshing and innovative.
Once seated we asked a few questions about the wine as there were quite a few i had not heard of. The waitress knowledgeably suggested a glass of Austrian Gruner Veltliner which she brought a taster to us first to try and then a 'rustic and earthy' red wine from Cahors 'the home of malbec' apparently. Both were exquisite and matched our dishes perfectly. The starter of seared monkfish was flavoursome and my wife and I shared the Cote de Boeuf for our main which i can honestly say was incredible.
Even though we were one of the last to leave every staff member smiled and said a friendly, yet not contrived, goodbye to us. I was quite impressed as this rarely happens in London. Now that I'm 'in the know' I shall be telling others about this place!

We made reservations on the web for the party of 4. Almost empty place at 7pm. Good service. Strange atmosphere of a railway station converted to a restaurant. Too salty fish, almost uneatable. Good desserts and coffee.

I went to St Germain too. The food was ok, nothing to rave about. I did enjoy the cocktails though, there were beautifully crafted.
However, that waiter had best take his attitude where I think. Extremely rude and quite pretentious. That made the experience less than enjoyable once we had sad down.

Third visit in 3 months and have to say this place just gets better and better. Food is great tasting, simply presented and very well priced.
Service is possibly the best in London, wine list is short but covers most areas and the atmosphere is great.

Second visit to St Germain and had another great meal.
The food is good and at a decent price and the service was again outstanding from our Australian waiter. The place looks good and has a nice buzz when it fills up.
