Out of the Blue Bar and Kitchen

Out of the Blue is a simply wonderful place - we recently moved from a road just round the corner from it, and I must say I was sad to leave it behind! The atmosphere is warm and friendly, the cocktails are great, the food delicious (and not over-priced) and the staff genuinely friendly. The owner/manager (apologies, I'm not sure which), a tall gentleman to be found at the front of house, gave the impression that he was genuinely passionate about his job and the restaurant, and was unfailingly welcoming and helpful. The best place in Clapham for a sophisticated night out.

Despite the other reviews on this website, I have to say I thought the food here was poor. I went with a group of friends and none of us really enjoyed our food. Dry, tasteless burger and horrible deep fried (frozen) squid as a couple of examples. Grim. I should have realised what was to come when I saw the kebabs which they serve hanging on a swinging skewer.

The service was charming however and we had enough wine to make us forget what we had just eaten. Go for a drink but spend your money on food elsewhere in my opinion.

Went for Valentine's night. Great food, great wine and drinks list. Service was excellent. Very cool, chilled atmosphere. Would highly recommend it.

This palce has recently started up in my neighbourhood and has been the best culinary thing to happen to this area for ages.

I ate there and was more than happy.

The venue is excellent; relaxing and comfortable.

The food was lovely, as was the drink.

We finished the evening sitting in the comfy chairs with a good bottle of red and a cheese board to die for.

This is the best of its kind for many a mile!

Very highly recommended!

I have been to Out of the Blue at least 5 times now and I love it....

The food, wines, service and ambience is all excellent... it's so refreshing to have such a fab place on St Johns Hill... definitely recommend it, give it a try!!!!

You need to know about this place! We have lived in the area for a couple of years and are over the moon to see the arrival of out of the blue! On our first visit we amazed at popular it already is. When we got a table, after enjoying the impresive beer list at the bar, we soon realised why it was full on Wednesday night. The food was out of this world, amazing flavours and we loved the international deli boards. Service was effecient, friendly and not in your face and we loved the laid back atmosphere. This place could really put St Johns Hill on the map we are just not sure if we ant everyone to discover it! We will be back again and again...
