I hosted a small wine tasting event for 20 people at the Old China Hand recently. It was a very enjoyable evening and the owner and staff could not have been more accommodating and helpful. The ambience in the bar is really welcoming and friendly. The Dim-Sum is very, very delicious. All in all a really great little bar which may not look much from the outside, but walk through the door and you'll be pleasantly surprised at what you find inside.

A Rather Unusual Chinaman

A Rather Unusual Chinaman

Monday, September 28, 2009 - On the whole, everything was very good. The dumplings were succulent and very tasty, the fried goods relatively grease free. One of the things they pride themselves is on using natural flavours and ignoring MSG, certainly a world away from many Chinese restaurants. My main criticisms would be cost (each dish was over 4 pounds) and portion size, which frankly, were tiny. The bar itself had a wide variety of lagers and ales from all around the world. The main bar area was spacious and the barmen were friendly and accommodating.
