It was a rare Saturday night out with the boys and we decided to take in the comedy night at the George IV in Chiswick. Matt who used to be local suggested "Ground" for a quick pre gig burger. It was extremely busy but we managed to get a table and ordered burgers and a side of onion rings. Some of the options on the menu did look a bit odd, my personal view is that if the beef burger is well cooked and seasoned it doesn't need all the wacky nonsense though I can understand people having fun with it. The burgers came pretty quickly and they were good, not up there with the black Angus burger at "Sophies Steakhouse" but nice nonetheless. What was impressive was the great selection of world beers available, I really enjoyed my draught Red Stripe. The bill came to about £14 each which wasn't bad at all. I would go back and it is nice to see a burger place making a real effort that isn't part of a boring chain.

Very nice place, with very nice staff, serving very good food, made with care and attention, and served nice and hot! We go once a month and have never been disappointed. The serving staff are saints!A couple at the next table-you know who you are- were going on about having a vegetarian patty. Now,honestly, why would you ever go to a restarant called "GROUND" that specialises in great juicy, hamburgers served as you want them(medium for me) with freedom fries cooked in dripping if you are a vegetarian cult member? Is this just to annoy the rest of us?Go somewhere else,or have a salad! But to then go on and complain that the veggie patty burger they took the time to make was not good!!A veggie patty burger,by definition cannot be "good" -it's just mushed vegetables, like baby food jars. The waitstaff was so polite, they should be commended.Although I wonder if they "adjusted" the contents of the next course in reprisal?Anyway,go to Ground if you like the juicy real burgers and all the accoutrements and you won't be disappointed.

I have nothing but good things to say about this restaurant...... the food is lovely, there is a really nice atmosphere and the staff are all really friendly and happy to chat about the restaurant. It beats ** and ****** hands down on every parameter and is a joy to visit. Wish burgers, fries and milkshakes were a little healthier as would be here every week!!!! 10 out of 10!!

sad as it may seem i visit this particular establishment at least three times a month. why you may ask. well simply put the food is good, the surroundings are relaxing (even when they are busy) and the staff always seem pleased to see you. i love the fusion of fast food , great wine and beers and whilst i occassionally venture down to gourmet burger (no complaints here apart from the lack of seating) i always end up back at at ground.full marks!!

Ground Burger in Chiswick was an absolute disappointment for my friend and I. Yes, it looks nice with its earthy green and brown colours and industrial-looking chairs, but the food was very, very average to disgusting. The veggie patty burger was greasy, over-fried and tasted what I imagine cardboard dipped in lard to eat like. I'm sure the meat burgers are good, but if a restaurant in a popular location can't show imagination and flair with a non-meat item on the menu then it says a lot about the establishement. Why bother having it on the menu and charging good money for it. The table, chairs, condiment bottles were also sticky - cleary hadn't been cleaned, let alone, disinfected in a while. The only highlight - yes, there is one - was that the fries were served in a metal container which was fun. Needless to say, I won't be going again.

Really like Ground, can't believe we haven't discovered it before. Got a take-away last night to test the water, and thought the burgers were great. Will be going back to sit in as soon as we can.

I really can't believe that the previous poster and myself actually went to the same restaurant!! Went to Ground this lunch-time with a group of friends and family. I really have to say this has to be one of the best restaurants in Chiswick! You would be hard to find more genuine and friendly service coupled

with fantastic fresh food in bright funky suroundings. Get down to Ground now for the best Burgers in London!!!!! Oh and the salads are pretty good too.....

This place is less than the sum of it's parts looks good on the outside but can't make a decent burger which is odd becuase that's what it's meant to be good at? Think gourmet burger kitchen with worse burgers and without out the kids running around. Just what Chiswick didn't need another boring concept not done particularly well. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
