This is a Hidden Gem! A little off the beaten track (three minutes walk from Maze Hill overhead station) but well worth a visit.

My Lover and I dined at this restaurant in September 2010. The food is absolutely amazing - varied menu, flavourful, honest portions and served by the friendliest, most attentive waiters around. I loved the decor! - a mix of traditional and contemporary that works to enhance a warm, friendly atmosphere.

We'd go back again and again, but unfortunately live in Manchester! (we were in Greenwich visiting family who recommended this great place).

How much for a take away to Prestwich, Manchester? lol

Next time we're in Greenwich, we'll definitely give it a visit!

Last night was the first time I had been to this restaurant so I cannot comment on what it was like prior to being taken over by new management.

Let me start with the food which was mostly amazing. I am a big fan of South Indian food and particularly like uthappams and masala dosas - well the ones at Kerala Zone were some of the best I've ever had and the accompanying chutneys were divine. The uthappams were freshly prepared, light and fluffy and not at all greasy, just how they should be. We also had cabbage thoran - which was cabbage with spices and almonds, which was light and very tasty and channa masala which was probably the best type of this dish I have ever had. Really amazing food and although the serve meat, there is a huge selection of vegetarian options. On the downside, the chutneys we had with our pappadoms were very tired looking and had clearly just been taken from the most recent customer's table - the spoons were grubby and each pot was only half full of the relevant chutney so I would probably give these a miss and try one of the other starters when I go again.

And now the down side. The restaurant itself, wasn't exactly relaxing. It has a huge Sky screen blaring out News 24 which made conversation difficult to say the least. The acoustics were such that everyone's voices seemed to be incredibly loud (and there were only 3 other couples in the restaurant) yet bloke and I could hardly hear one another. Also, although they only had one highly efficient waiter on, there were several other members of staff who kept walking in and out of the restaurant and leaving the front door open in the process.

However, having said that, given how amazing the food was, we are definitely going to give it another go, particularly as the waiter handed us a menu as we left and said if we come again the next few weeks and eat in the restaurant, we will get 20% off our meal.

It's official, This is the best Indian food in Greenwich.

I went to this restaurant once last year when it was operated by different owners and the food was diabolical. I remember being so shocked at how bad it was, me and a friend left and almost fell out the door we were laughing so much.

Well it closed shortly after that and reopened in the last week of July 2010.

I decided to try again as they are now under new management and had the most amazing experience. Date of visit was 29th July 2010.

We were greeted by a slightly nervous waiter who took our order and delivered two ice cold bottles of Tiger beer. We ordered 3 mains and lots of other smaller dishes. The food came out in good time and I have to say, it was the best Indian food I have had for years. Spicy, tasty and fresh with lovely chopped herbs, soft naan bread and delicious coconut rice.

The big difference here is quality. Soft lamb in rich and spicy sauce, not the usual bland gravy you seem to get everywhere else. Good quality chicken and a real passion for Southern Indian food.

The staff are currently in a learning phase and are trying very hard to be perfect. Our waiter was just a joy. He was so polite and was simply looking for approval of the food and service.

Give these guys a go. You will love the food but go easy on the staff, they are trying very hard to lose the poor reputation of the previous owners.

Agree with the below review. It was a good restaurant in the beginning.

But now below par standard in service and food.

Guess Mr. Zack is not interested in running the business.

A VERY STRANGE RESTAURANT IN GREENWICH THAT OFFER SPECIALS LIKE:

- RUN OUT OF MOST OF THE MENU ITEMS.

- KEEP WAITING THE CUSTOMERS FOR LONG HOURS.

- HALF FROZEN DISHES.

- AND ON TOP OF ALL THESE A HUGE BILL WITH 10% SERVICE CHARGE

HAD REALLY BAD EXPERIENCE A COUPLE OF TIMES FROM HERE.

THUMBS DOWN FOR THE PATHETIC CARELESS MANAGEMENT.

HOPE THIS RESTAURANT DISAPPEAR AS FAST AS POSSIBLE.
