I personally think that this is the best place in London for Indian food, I take my family once a month for dinner, my experience of this place has been overwhelmingly positive. The service is very good with attentive waiters. Food is always good, they have fantastic Lamb Seekh & Amrtisari Fish, my wife’s all time fav is pepper shikampuri.
In fact i visited India last year and could not find any Indian restaurant here which served food like i ate in India, however Sitaaray seemed to do the job.
I think this place maintains the perfect balance between excellent food, courteous service, value for money, and a beautiful ambience.

The food in this place has to be the worst I have ever eaten in my life! The meat is very cheap, the dipping sauces are disgusting and the food doesn't taste Indian at all!
Good luck with complaining to the manager because you will not get an apology out of him and he will threaten to take you to court and if you get lippy with him, he will get the bouncers from the club next door to throw you out!
Please do not go here! You will get ripped off and be dissapointed with the food and service!!!
I will be contacting Martin Lewis for some advice!

I m very regular to Sitaaray and I must say its on one of my favourite places in London. What drags me to Sitaary is the fairly priced unlimited menu, its simply amazing and so is the consistency in service.
Their Post theatre menu is just excellent, Salmon Shahi Tikka, Malai Chicken Tikka, khumb seekh are most amazing, Honey Ginger Ice-cream is also a must try.
The ambience of the restaurant is nice, very unique and bollywood style. A true value for money experience!

Both my wife and I visited the Sitaaray for dinner while in London on holiday a few weeks back. We were thoroughly impressed with the entire restaurant and its decor. We both have eaten at many Indian restaurants over the years and we were highly impressed with the Sitaaray.
The kebabs were very nice- we were stuffed by the end of the meal. Rasmalai & kulfi faluda completed our wonderful meal experience. Our waitress was also very courteous with a smiling face, helped us in selecting the dishes from the menu.
We are sadden to the fact we may not be able to enjoy this dish again until we're in London once again, and I'm sure the Sitaaray will be our first dinner stop once we arrive.

Having read some of the other negative reviews about Sitaaray, I felt compelled to add my experience too, as it seems that we experienced the same level of disappointment. Night started off quite well, nice place, food was good. Staff, our waitress in particular was awful, no other way to describe her, couldn't understand a word she was saying, not due to language barrier but just because she wouldn't speak up, couldn't get our drinks order right, the food although rushed out at first, was then brought out in dribs and drabs, icing on the cake was when we ordered some more vege starters, and were presented with 1 skewer of mushrooms (laughable) for a group of 11 people.
The cherry on the cake was when we were presented with the bill, 12.5% service charge was added to the bill, on menu it states that this is recommended, not obligutary, when we asked to have this removed from the bill, the manager was very rude, and said we had to pay the service charge etc. When told that we were not obliged to pay this, he threatened us with the small claims court, and if we did not pay, would take it off the debit card we booked the table with. It appears there were many disgruntled customers that night, and as someone has already mentioned we were escorted out of the place by security. Will not be going back, my mum can cook better than them anyway!!!

Yet another fantabulous time in Sitaaray
I have been a regular of this restaurant for quite a long time now...and it never lets me down..
I love Indian grilled food and I can guarantee you...no other restaurant in London would serve you the quality and quantity of food for a price of £22.95 as Sitaaray..
My wife is a vegetarian and she likes Sitaaray more than me...as she dont have to stick to the normal vegetarian options every time...they change their menu quite often...
Hats off to chefs...well done Sitaaray

Total con artists. We had a table reservation for 9pm and weren't seated until 10pm - a full hour late. When we asked for some discount we were fobbed off with one of the useless waitress mumbling she would check with the manager and we could negotiate something at the end of the meal.
When we had finished we called the manager as agreed for the discount but he was so stubbon and rude and refused to even acknowledge their poor service in seating us so late. So we decided not to pay the service charge that had mysteriously appeared on our bill to the tune of 10% (even though the "service" was hopelessly inadequate).
We were still sitting around finishing our drinks when we were settling the bill but as soon as the manager realised we weren't paying for service he lost his temper and ordered us out of the restaurant. When we protested and said we hadn't finished and that we had paid for entry into Tamarai he became very aggressive and called the security guards from the club downstairs physically manhandled us out of the restaurant, without letting us finish our drinks and without letting us into Tamarai - they claimed entry to the club was at his discretion.
I have taken this up with Trading Standards. Please do not go to this restaurant.

Awful. The food, the service and the hidden prices. Every table at the place was complaining at the same thing. The most dull waitress, undercooked food, hidden service charge, slow service. Stick to your local kebab house.

Very disappointing experience (even though the food was good)!
Our waitress could not have been less welcoming. We ordered from the £22.95 'all you can eat' menu with a 30% discount clearly stated on their website (so should have been £16.07 each but more on that later). When the first modest serving eventually arrived the food was actually very tasty, light, well seasoned, (maybe lacking in spice for the purists) but overall very good. However, this is where the positives end.
We waited an age in between each serving, with each plate getting smaller. It is clear this is how the Sitaaray hope to maximise profit by serving their 'all you can eat' menu incredibly slowly and with meagre portions (and no, I am not an overweight gannet)! Having received a handful of tiny servings I was determined not to leave the restaurant feeling hungry so after waiting at least half an hour for a final serving I went and found our waitress who grudgingly agreed to bring another dish to our table. 10 minutes later a plate with two uncooked fish fillets was thrown in front of us. This was the final straw, or so we thought, as having asked for the bill we were presented with a grossly inflated figure. Now I don't mind paying £6.50 for a beer (a rip-off but the price was clearly stated) or even 12.5% service charge when in fact our waitress should have paid us compensation for having to suffer her but I draw the line at being overcharged to the tune of £30 for the four set menues we had ordered. When questioned the waitress first tried to deny the offer , then when proof was shown (thank you iphone) from their own website she mumbled something about having to take up complaints with the chef! To my eternal shame we settled at a compromise between the initial bill and the correct amount (why didn't I just refuse to pay a penny more than the correct amount, even inc the joke of a service charge? I think the overwhelming urge to get out of the SItaaray was too much). So in short, tasty food, miserable, slow service and an attempted rip-off at the end. DO NOT GO TO THE SITAARAY!

I'm not sure which restaurant the diners on this website dined at (other than the last reviewer) because this place is simply awful!
My partner & I wanted to go for a romantic meal and decided on a curry. We found this place via Vouchercloud and wish we hadn't!
On arrival we were greeted by a gormless waitress and told "you can only have this menu" which involved very little curry and lots of cheap meat that I would think twice about feeding to my dog! The waitress failed to grasp the concept of half a lager and lime and the fact that we wanted one veg meal and one meaty meal. What we got was a complete mish mash - vegetarians beware!
Once we finally made it past the cheap patties (having returned three chicken dishes for not being cooked properly) and made it to the curry courses we could not have been more diappointed. What we got tasted like baby food and was utterly vile and neither of us could eat it.
The only redeeming feature of this place was the Nepalese waiter.
Even with a 25% discount this meal for two cost £50. My father always said "you don't have to eat it, you only have to pay for it" never a truer word said in this case!
This is by far the worst restaurant I have ever had the misfortune to dine in and the night was only redeemed by the fact that my partner and I managed to keep a sense of humour about it all!
