Food is nice but too many v-neck, floppy haired, loud mouth sloanes ensuring you can't hear yourself think. Its not the first time I have been there and been blown away by the arrogance and ignorance of tables of city sloaners who think they are the only people in the restaurant.

Shame because food and service is good but you just can't enjoy yourself with Hugo, Tristan and Will at 1000 decibels.

Very disappointed, the food is a total let down, a very nice looking restaurant. Go to Indian Flavours in Clapham High St, Its nearby and the food is great. Indian Flavours pulls out all the punches to give you a great meal.

An Indian Moment, it must describe the time spent thinking about the food. Which was just deeply mediocre considering the cost, and promise of the swanky interior.

To be fair the popadoms were good, with fresh tasting homemade dips and chuntney. The menu looks well designed too, pared down to about 20 mains rather than the classic curry house encyclopedia.

The food however, reminded me of a friend who likes to cook recipies he's seen on the telly. They look very nice, but you can tell he doesn't really know what they're supposed to taste like.

So, starters were a fiver each. The fried baby squid looked most mouthwatering on paper, but on plate was too few chewy pieces sitting on a mountain of friend onions. The aubergine slices the girls went for were tasteless.

Mains were about £8. The jalfrezi had only one flavour, undercooked chilli. The Rogan Josh sauce was good, but the lamb was overstewed. The Chicken Tikkas were the winners, with a buttery almond sauce, which we would have said was korma.

Oh, and it seems a small bowl of rice is rapidly approaching the £3 mark.

Overall, it should be cheaper, or better.

Sadly expensive does not necessarily mean good......... Had dinner here a couple of weeks ago and was pretty disappointed, the food was bland and greasy, the portions tiny and generally over-priced (4 prawns for £12). Unless you are looking for indian food adapted to people without any taste buds, I would go somewhere else for a proper curry!

We eat at Indian Moment at least twice a month. We've been to many very nice Indian restaurants in London (e.g. Tamarind, Chutney Mary's, etc.) but why go into the city when you can get great food at a great price, right around the corner. What's more, the service is second to none and we are always warmly greeted and looked after throughout the meal. We highly recommend Indian Moment.
