My daughter chose the Caribbean Scene restaurant to celebrate her birthday as she had been there before and enjoyed the atmosphere.

I must say I was most impress with the river view location and the restaurant really felt like I was in the Caribbean bliss.

We were greeted by the manager who directed us to the waiting area, where we were entertainted by a live band, who sang a meddly of songs (if music be the food of love).Beautiful!!!!

The waiters were most polite and efficient even though the restaurant was full to capacity. The food was delicious.I must recommend the Pepped Steak although not for those who like their food bland.

The restaurant makes a big fuss of people celebrating their brthday ,bring a cake which will be delivered by the entire staff cheering and joing in the fun full marks to the restaurant and the entire staff for making this a very special occassion for my daughter and too the manager who had the patience of a saint trying to work out our individual bills(girls will be girls) The receipt also entitles you to 30% reduction on your next bill.

Well Recommended.

On a recent trip to London me and my girlfriend stayed at the Ibis hotel, rather than travel into the city centre we decided to stay close to the hotel and eat at Caribbean Scene.

We were so glad we did, the service was excellent the food was delicious and the place had a good atmosphere. The prices were a little high, but you get what you pay for and we certainly did. After we had eaten we decided to get a drink at the bar, we tried a few cocktails which were great and the barman was fantastic.

We enjoyed our night so much we went back 2 more times during our weeks holiday.

highly recommended. and will return very soon!

I and a few friends have been to this restaurant twice now and have made my mind never to go again. Order taken wrongly, when food arrived it was warm, food overly priced, staff were extremely rude when i mentioned i was not happy, service was poor. Rather go to Mango Rooms any day.

What a dissapointment!

Went to this resturant for my husbands birthday and I wish I didn't take him there.

First impressions do count and I guess they did for me. The menu looked amazing but the main course was cold not even warm. The portion sizes were so small and not worth the money. Our waitress was lovely, but didn't take down our correct oder.

Not visiting this resturant again

I was there with my girlfriend for her birtday. there was just two of us, but the waitress was really attentive. after our meals, she came to us with group of her colleagues and sang a funny birthday song.

Food was really nice and hot. we had jerk chicken wich was amazing and spicy crab.

Despite that the night was busy, our waitress was helpful and friendly. what we had notised, that white tall girl looks a bit unusual with that orange outfit, but she was gorgeous.

Live music was incredible! sexy singer with beautiful voice.

i would strongly recommend this restaurant to others.

went there again...against my own wills since i live next door and was really disappointed. Food was not even good this time and it cost me super expensive. 30 pounds for a starter and a main and drink and not even filling....very disapointed. will never go there again.

My friend had booked CS for her birthday. She booked the Friday 15th Feb. When we arrived we were told that we had to have a set Valentines menu, she was not told this when we made the booking. The 4 of us were pushed into the tight table surrounded by couples. the menu was not that diverse. Chicken wing starters, only 4 very small pieces were o.k. Fish gougeons were more coating then fish. Service was appalling; the menu came with a champagne cocktail (champagne with a cherry in it!!) 1 of us doesn’t drink and it took 15 minutes to get a replacement for the drink…having been told that nothing could be done. The mains were o.k. looked great but unable to eat garnished..deep fiend bread-fruit was cooked till it was MDF. All the mains came with rice adn peas. I did not want it and asked if it could be changed. I was told no. I then said don't bother bringing it as it will not be eaten..they brought it anyway. Fondant potatoe was basically roast potatoe. Sweet potato mash was a tea-spoonful hidden under the pan fried chicken. While we were eating a guy 2 tables way was sick!!! The manager then proceeded to get waitresses to start spraying disinfectant and Mr Sheen while we were still trying to eat. The manager came over and asked us is everything o.k. to which we replied no. We listed our grievances to which he began to tell us about how many awards the restaurant had won!!! He offered us a free desert….we declined. We just wanted to go. He then got the waitresses to come over with a candle lit cheese cake and sing happy birthday to my friend…big pause halfway through..they didn’t know her name. Their lack lustre performance and interest was plainly seen on their faces. The bill came, 2 courses for £30 plus service charge 12.5%. I’ve tasted far better food at Cottons, Mango Rooms and most Caribbean takeaways. It was definitely nothing special. We paid the £30 for the food but said we were not going to pay the service charge as the service had been inadequate throughout. The manager then proceeded to tell us that we had to pay it as it is not a gratuity but part of the meal.????? I stood my ground; he eventually relented, sending over the rudest of staff member to take our money. She did not speak to us at all….

We left and can truly say it was the worst dining experience that we had had on over 6 years…not worth it at all!!!!

My friend and I dined at Caribbean Scene on 2/2/08 and we were very disappointed by the service, it is overly hyped, overly priced and overvalued. The singer and keyboard player in the bar area was the only good experience; the service was extremely poor. We waited over an hour to be seated, we kept asking the manager what time we could expect to be given a table and his answer was “we are very busy tonight”, although we had a reservation. I actually walked around the restaurant and counted over 6 two seat tables unoccupied but still they could not find us a table. We eventually had to be pushy and only then a table suddenly became available; no apologies were given for the delay or lack of service either. On examination of the menu we were again disappointed to discover that there was not enough options to choose from, there was no ground provisions, only one fish disk, and one curry option, in a nut shell not your typical West Indian menu. We also had to call to a waiter to take the orders who looked like she was not pleased to be taking our order. When the food came it was OK, not amazing (I’ve tasted better at my local Caribbean take away). I think it is essential that Caribbean Scene sort out their staff, learnt how to apologise and correct their mistakes properly, reduce the waiting time for a table and be more polite to the diners. I will not be going back to this restaurant.
