NEVER NEVER NEVER AGAIN. The attitude of the Manager is absolutely rude. Our food was served cold. Our booking was for 9pm we were seated 10pm. Our main course meal was served while 6 of us were eating our staters. They came back with the food without clearing the dishes from our starters. The Manager does not do any justice for this restuarant. The Manager argued with 6 ladies enjoying a birthday celebration. He insisted we had a good time when clearly we didn't. Eventually I had a dessert and had to wait 10 mins for a spoon and asked 2 waiters. Even though our food was served cold the Manager was in the kitchen reheating and serving his food steaming! Not very professional. Only bonus are the boys in the bar amusing customers and holding the restaurant together!! Oh and we did not pay any service charge whatsoever.

I have just visited this restaurant 23/8/08 and after previously giving stunning reviews from when I went to the restaurant with my parents for their anniversary in July this review will by no means be the same.

I recommended this restaurant to my friend as a place that she could celebrate her hen night (I am now asking myself why did I do this). My food was cold and several other girls on my table were not happy with their meal also. When I complained to the manager he was extremely blase about the situation which in turn got my back up and made me want to ask him: "Have you not heard of the saying the customer is always right". Compared to July when I first visited the restaurant I did not enjoy my main course at all.

Then for the dessert, the cheesecake was frozen. I was told by the manager "cheesecake is supposed to be served frozen"!!! Hmmmm ok then. My fruit salad, well all I can say is that they needed the pictures they show of the Caribbean sun on the flatscreen tv to make the mangos more ripe!!!

Moving on swiftly to the bill; and I need to know: Did the manager actually think that 13 intelligent women were going to pay £54.70 service charge when we were not happy with the service. Well we did not pay the service charge and had no intention of paying it either and after much arguing with the manager, we did not pay it.

I will not be going back to this restaurant in a hurry. But for the grace of God we thank him for providing such a gracious hostess who made the best of a very bad situation (you know who you are) and we thank you from all the hen's for making our evening enjoyable with your wonderful hostess manners and courtesy.

I think the manager needs to take complaints seriously and stop thinking that because the restaurant has won a few awards then you don't have to try to keep your customers happy after those awards have been won. Winning awards means nothing if your restaurant has no one in it that you can serve.

After reading some reviews on the web about this place I was slightly apprehensive about going to Caribbean Scene but I am happy that I chose this place for my birthday celebrations – it was perfect for my birthday and good fun. The location is beautiful it over looks Victoria Docks, you can see across the river. In the light it looks great. We took full advantage of this and took lots of pictures. The manager came outside and helped us take group pictures which was really nice. He was very active on the floor, I saw him going around the restaurant making sure everything was going well, friendly and professional.

The inside interior is modern and lovely. The staff and are very warm and friendly and joyful, creating a really nice atmosphere. When we got there we were seated after about 5 minutes on our tables, we waited in comfortable seats in the bar area. The place was almost full up and the noise level was just right not too noisy, they had music live singers they were good, the music they played and the happiness and joy they displayed. The only thing I would say is maybe they could play some more selection of songs but they were good and it nice that the music is in the corner of the restaurant so again the noise level was right.

For starters we had the hurricane platter – and that was nice. The food I would rate from medium to good. The fish and the oxtail dishes main dish was really tasty. I and two other people had the stuffed jerk chicken and felt that it was okay, sauce nice although small, but we asked for more sauce and they gave to us without hesitations. The potato rosti all three of us agreed was a bit bland and not a good combination with the rest of the dish, we felt it would have been better if it was mashed sweet potato, chicken was okay abit on the dry side but it was filling. The presentation for all the food was superb.

I would definitely recommend people to go Caribbean Scene in Docklands. It was so much fun it was nice everyone in the group gave good comments – the staff are great, they should get top marks. Out of 10 I would say the food was 6. I do think they should look at some of the negative comments given on some of the review and make sure these things are fully address though as they have some great dishes and the place is great and a few improvement here and there would move them for a good restaurant to a great fantastic restaurant just with some minor changes.

I read the reviews of the Caribbean Scene and they seemed very mixed. One of our party of 7 had dined there and their experience that time had been good. I am sorry to say that that was not our experience tonight. Indeed I am so upset about the evening that I am writing this review at 22.46pm so that others are really clear about what might be possible should they decide to dine at Caribbean Scene. It was beside the point that the waiter, who did his best to serve us well, but had to return to our table for the 5th time during the meal to tell us what we had ordered was not available. Even he said that he felt embarrassed and slightly scared to approach us one more time with the bad news.

It was the attitude of the Manager and front of house Manager that is both maddening and upsetting. There was a complete disregard for the customer. Whatever our complaint, an excuse was lauched our way, "We have had a very busy weekend," "We have run out of .....because so many people have been to the restaurant" etc. etc.etc. He seemed not to understand that that is not our worry nor our concern. Not only that but he seemed completely unable to deal with the conflict that inevitably follows when dealing with customers who were disappointed, felt let down, and finally overcharged. Sadly one of our party paid the bill without checking whether the service charge had been added. £14 had been added to the bill and although we had been served two of the meals 10minutes before the others arrived, ordered on 5 seperate occasions only to have the waiter come back some time later to tell us that that was not available. Needless to say he refused to refund the £14. I have never been to a restaurant ever where the Manager does not have the business sense to listen to the customer. We will certainly not be returning,to this restaurant that has left a very sour taste in the mouth. What is most upsetting is that somwhere like Caribbean Scene is allowed to get away with this.

Well well well, after reading those reviews i can only say that i've experienced this substandard service only last Friday and threw away £30 more or less. I ordered fish with sauteed onions and peppers only to receive a hard deep fried ugly looking fish with a chicken sauce on it. I asked for hard boiled provisions with no dumpling only to be told it is served with it. When it was brought to my table in that way i asked to speak to someone of higher authority. The manager came and told me that is how the side order is served. I asked her if i was allergic to flour what would've happened? My partners food tasted disgusting and this is no where near to cooking caribbean food. Seasonless and tasteless. I come from the caribbean and so I know its not the same, this doesnt come close to what caribbean food is all about. They need a proper chef and a good personel in that place who listens to consumer feedback to make this work. Its the worst food i have had in ages. Even now I cant bring myself to eat after this disgusting food.

My daughter chose the Caribbean Scene restaurant to celebrate her birthday as she had been there before and enjoyed the atmosphere.

I must say I was most impress with the river view location and the restaurant really felt like I was in the Caribbean bliss.

We were greeted by the manager who directed us to the waiting area, where we were entertainted by a live band, who sang a meddly of songs (if music be the food of love).Beautiful!!!!

The waiters were most polite and efficient even though the restaurant was full to capacity. The food was delicious.I must recommend the Pepped Steak although not for those who like their food bland.

The restaurant makes a big fuss of people celebrating their brthday ,bring a cake which will be delivered by the entire staff cheering and joing in the fun full marks to the restaurant and the entire staff for making this a very special occassion for my daughter and too the manager who had the patience of a saint trying to work out our individual bills(girls will be girls) The receipt also entitles you to 30% reduction on your next bill.

Well Recommended.

On a recent trip to London me and my girlfriend stayed at the Ibis hotel, rather than travel into the city centre we decided to stay close to the hotel and eat at Caribbean Scene.

We were so glad we did, the service was excellent the food was delicious and the place had a good atmosphere. The prices were a little high, but you get what you pay for and we certainly did. After we had eaten we decided to get a drink at the bar, we tried a few cocktails which were great and the barman was fantastic.

We enjoyed our night so much we went back 2 more times during our weeks holiday.

highly recommended. and will return very soon!

I and a few friends have been to this restaurant twice now and have made my mind never to go again. Order taken wrongly, when food arrived it was warm, food overly priced, staff were extremely rude when i mentioned i was not happy, service was poor. Rather go to Mango Rooms any day.

What a dissapointment!

Went to this resturant for my husbands birthday and I wish I didn't take him there.

First impressions do count and I guess they did for me. The menu looked amazing but the main course was cold not even warm. The portion sizes were so small and not worth the money. Our waitress was lovely, but didn't take down our correct oder.

Not visiting this resturant again
