Seventy Seven Wine Bar

Great place. If you're in a hurry, want to be served at the snap your fingers, or want something cheap, go to the bizzarely popular blonde wood buger factory round the corner. Otherwise, relax and be nice in calm surroundings. People look happy here, the food is good - not spectacular but fine - and it's just a nice evening all told. It's what it is, and that's enough for me. Drinks are higher priced than average but then it's a better place than average.

Hmmm. Been to this place several times over the years. Drinks are expensive. The food is okayish. I usually go for a burger and chips (like the high life) which is reasonable value but you get much better value round the corner at Gourmet Burger. They'll automatically add a service charge on so being a tight so and so I go to the bar for my drinks - sorry, but with the price of a beer here your bill will soon increase without you knowing it.
The setting is pleasant and it's usually quite melllow on a Sunday afternoon.
Service I find poor. I tried to get a drink one day and had to go round the corner and ask the woman (regulars may recognise her as the Liverpudlian - she may be the owner for all I know) who was lying down on the settee reading the paper, if there was any chance of getting a drink. I got a sarcastic reply.
Draught is often off for some reason and they don't rush to change it, just say have a bottle instead, which is even more expensive than draught.
I have to say I'm thinking of not going here again because of the service. I have noticed it's the established places in West Hampstead where the service is visibly poor.
