I just would like to let you know how incredibly badly treated I was this morning when I went in to Raoul's Cafe with my baby in the buggy. All I wanted to do was buy a cake which I told them. I was pretty much shoved out the door immediately and told I was not allowed to bring the buggy inside. A customer who was coming in the door behind was kind enough to rudely remind me of this too. Even if I had wanted to buy something other than a cake, I wasn't allowed to due to my buggy. This is pure discrimination and I am appalled this is happening. This has never happened to me before. I take my daughter out almost every day and go to places in St John's Wood where we live that are much smaller where you are welcome. We have been better treated in all Michelin starred restaurants we have gone to. I wonder if Raoul's also discriminate against wheel chair users? I will NEVER EVER buy anything from Raoul's.
Please note I have spoken to the manager on duty and have also e-mailed the owners.

An Institution: I have been coming here for years on and off. The only set back is that its not big enough to accomodate for all of St Johns Wood and Maida Vale. So be sure to come early and prepare for a wait (hey good things come to those who wait !).
The brunches here are stellar, have one of the smoothies, eggs benedict and a side of bacon, and you are good to go. Also the burger and fries are wicked cant fault them either.
I am quite surprised actually that people have been so harsh on this place as it really does offer some great food.
PS: If you don't want to wait go in the evening on a weekday the foods just as good and the Restaurant will be all yours.....

I came here last Saturday with my friend for brunch. Food was okay, but considering the long lines (usually) food/service is less than expected. I somewhat thought the quality of diners was too good for this restaurant.
A bit overrated but one of the good options in this area.

Raoul's really should be a great local cafe and I think when it first opened it was. It is in a great location and benefits from a local community who loves their cappuccinos, eggs benedict and overpriced but yummy slices of cake. But this place is so disappointing!!
Since I live in the area, I have given this place more than enough chances but have finally given up. Funnily enough most of my friends in the area have said the same thing.
The staff are rude, unhelpful and if any complaints are made they get on the defensive and then snigger between themselves.
They have a no buggy policy which I have nothing against but when the place is completely empty and I mean completely empty you would think they would make an exception. Oh no, no sense of being commercial or kind here. We were turned away in the rudest of manners and then laughed at when I showed disbelief and annoyance. The unprofessionalism was quite astounding.
The Raoul Deli across the road used to be a nice enough place but the staff have become increasingly unpleasant and the food is overpriced.
Never going back to either places ever again!
