Fontana

Went here on Sunday night for my birthday and was expecting good things having read the reviews below. On entering the place, it was all a bit bright lights and quite old skool in terms of decor. Nevertheless we all took to our seats brushing this off. Finally, a waitress to take our drink order. We had to ask for the drinks menu... after 10 mins she returned with the one drinks menu between the 12 of us. No matter, I was convinced it was still going to be a great evening. Despite it being a great time to catch up with mates ... all I can say about the food & service: WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!!

The main waiter looked liked he didn't really give a damn... in fact I was concerned that we were really ruining his sunday night - I mean he could be at home vegging in front of the telly or something, Our plates were slammed down & quickly cleared up before everyone had finished. At no point was there any attempt to be friendly or even wish me happy birthday despite cards displayed on the table! Just felt as though they really could have made a bit more effort birthday or otherwise.

The food was acceptable however seriously overpriced.

The food was very nice. Went as a very big group, the starters were very nice, we got a large range of starters which filled us up! The staff were friendly and quick. The main meal was good, as it was set menu we did not get to taste the range of food but the chicken was very lovely and tender. The atmosphere was also nice, we had our own part of the restaurant to ourselves and the belly dancer came and danced with us. I would definately recommend this restaurant to friends especially if you go with a small group!

My friends and I visisted Fontana last Saturday following a recommendation from a colleague at work. We were amazed by the beautiful atmosphere, the good service and best of all the food was out of this world. The manager Tony was top class and the service was very impressive. The belly dancer added spice to a lovely night out.

We bumped into this nice-looking restaurant by chance when we were on a brief trip to London... and it turned out absolutely excellent from start to finish in every aspect.

The vegetarian menu was some of the best Arab food we'd ever had.

I can only agree with the 9 and 10 ratings given by the other reviewer. Spot on.

I went to Fontana with my friend, we were planning to have the usual italian but Freddie the manager of this lebanese restaurant invited us in and offers to pay the bill if we didn't like it...

This place is really friendly where you'll be looked after, I will say the best service I've ever experience.

The atmosphere also made the place especially when the belly dancer's come arround.

And yes, we did pay! :) Around £25 pp but we did have a very good lebanese meze and wine.

Great night out!
