They insist on seatings - poor quality behaviour "we're very popular". Let's see how much longer that lasts with this attitiude. I was organising a dinner for partners and clients a major consultancy which will no longer be using Tom's Kitchen or other Tom Aitken restaurants.

Went to Tom's Kitchen with some friends and had a great dinner with well priced wines. The 7 hour lamb stood out and it was one of the best dishes I have ever tasted. We all had 3 courses and thought the portion sizes were a little bit too big -but thats better than the alternative. Will be returning soon but will not have lunch that day!

I ate at Toms Kitchen and have to say it was very bad value for money. The meal and drinks cost £270.00 for 4 people . We had 2 bottles of wine (£60) and 4 Daiquiris (£40) They were great. So far so good.
The atmosphere is ok but the decor is naff , naive and completely lacks charm.
I had the chicken liver and foie parfait (£13.50) and the 7hr Lamb (£42.00 for two)
The " parfait"was a squidge of tasteless brown mousse, the toast was good, the chutney that acompanied it tasted of M&S bottled stuff and it came with some Costco pickled gherkins. The Lamb was in a sweet black sauce that lacked any subtlety whatsoever and would have struggled to make a good base as a cheap barbacue sauce. My girlfriend had the salmon that was a generous portion, she enjoyed the quality of the ingredient but the following day we ate at Borough Market for much less where she also had a fish dish that she said was much superior. Please do yourself a favour and miss this place, really there are many better places, Toms name didn't make up for the shortfall, it really is a second rate gastropub masquerading as something special under a celebrity chefs name.

I eat in restaurants (of every price range) an average of 8 times a week.......so that's about 13,440 meals over the past 5 years. I can say without hesitation that my meal in Tom's Kitchen was THE worst value for money i have ever received - anywhere. The food was very average and in the case of the crumble almost inedible it was so sweet. The service was poor at best. If you're interested in knowing what it feels like to be robbed, head down to Tom's kitchen...I'll make a point of avoiding anything with his name on it in the future....and if i saw him wandering down the street, i'd have a good go at mugging him to get my money back. I could think of 20 places off the top of my head - both more and less expensive - that leave you feeling you've got what you paid for. If you're stupid enough to come back here more than once, you deserve it!

We have been a regular of Tom's Kitchen for a long time: Never been disappointed by the food and as always it was great. The beef wellington was amazing and very tender. The haddock special was also a winner for my partner.
Now the only problem is the standards. The room look very dirty and the waiting staff unorganised. There are a lot of new staff and the great service has change. We will come back thinking it is only a one off. Let’s hope if not we will have to find another jewel for our dinners.

Overpriced and bland food sums this place up. £14 for an average burger (add to that £1 extra for cheese)? £4 for a mini side order of courgettes? (I get 3kg of organic courgettes for that price). Sausage (2 average sized sausages) and mash for £14.50. Crazy mark-ups and nothing justifies it. It's just disrespectful to be taking the p*** in such obvious ways...
It wasn't my choice to go there and I am sure I won't be going back any time soon - not for breakfast or anything else.

Undoubtably the best (and perhaps most expensive) breakfast in the area and we've tried them all over the years (VQ, Aubaine, Chelsea Bun etc). Tom's hardly ever disappoints when it comes to the food, which is clearly all well sourced and high quality. The occasional tasteless burger is more than made up for by beautifully cooked poached eggs and creamy hollandaise.
My only gripe is with the cost. They say you get what you pay for, and of course we are prepared to pay a premium for quality ingredients but charging almost £5.50 for a smoothie, £2 to add an egg to baked beans on toast and £4 for one sausage is a joke!
The buzzy atmosphere and the proximity of tables to each other means that noise volumes are high, so be prepared if you have a hangover…
