My local Indian, a fact that I'm very grateful for. The staff are always absolutely charming and the food delicious. If you can get a special offer, so much the better, but is pretty good value anyway.

This was my 3rd visit to Salaam Namaste in Holborn but I was introducing it to 2 fellow diners. The chef is from Delhi making sure that asusual the food was delicious - I tried a chicken breast stuffed with minced lamb with a lovely sauce and cashew nuts on top. All the food was presented really nicely and it was an added bonus to get the special offer. The naan breads are the best I've tasted, and it's good that they replenish papadums and chutneys if we run out.

I went to Salaam Namaste in Bloomsbury with some of my colleages,

We really enjoyed the food and the waiters were very polite and friendly,

The menu is different and has some of the finest dishes from indian-subcontinent,

Worth a visit

A nice and cosy little Indian restaurant servers tasty dishes with friendly and attentive service, it's become one of our favourite place. Recommend lamb shank, it was delicious!

This has become my regular eating out for good indian food.

The menu is fantastic and different from your curry houses,

Our tawa lamb chops were out of this world, my friend ordered Zafrani Duck which was impressive and tastey.

I would reccommend Salaam Namaste any day

I really must say that this is the worst Indian restaurant that I have ever been to. Whilst the waiter obviously was struggling, for which I would like to give him some lee-way, he didn't seem to comprehend that I wished to order mushroom pilau rice as well as a lamb jalfrezi. I was so narked that I forgot to order my saag paneer; also I was trying to get this order in before the chef went home. When the fish jalfezi arrived, I asked him to take it back but I was impressed that he offered me the lamb from the buffet. However, the lamb was so bony and fatty that it really was inedible as you could have got, and it promptly appeared on the bill. The final straw was the waiter crossing out the "discretionary" from "discretionary service charge". I am sure that this is probably legal (just) nonetheless. No - I can safely say that this restaurant is truly abysmal, and costing about £15 a head for three for us for what was pretty awful cusine (two of us are Indian by the way) and service which was like a grunt like somebody else here observed, I would never go back there again. I hope.

We made a group booking for a friend's birthday. We were a party of 18. We were offered a set, three course meal for £21. On average we had 2 bottles of beer each. You can imagine our surprise when the bill came for £40 per head (2 bottles of beer = £19?). Already, money had been taken from people's cards whilst the bill was being questioned at the other end of the table. The scrawled bill was begrudingly deciphered by the manager to reveal an extra £150 service charge! By this time groups were beginning to leave. The bill was eventually settled and we left with our mood soured. I suppose we wouldn't have minded really, but the food wasn't really that good either. Can think of a dozen better curry houses for food, service and value for money, with none of them adding 25% service charge. Avoid.

I went to Salaam Namaste on the 50% off TopTable offer this Sunday lunchtime.

The restaurant was very quiet and lacked a little atmosphere as a consequence, but otherwise we had a very good Indian meal. Kebabs to start were nicely spiced and attractively presented. My Rajasthan lamb was really very good, with a rich, heavily-spiced, aromatic sauce and plenty of tender meat. The naans and rice were well cooked. Sweet lassis were not overly sickly and had a decent yoghurt base.

The restaurant is quite welcoming on a quiet residential road in Bloomsbury. Two courses with all the trimmings and service came in at a bargain £14 each. In prime central London, you can't really argue at those prices for decent Indian food.
