I dined there with my wife on the evening of the 16th November 2007 after having read rave reviews. Unfortunately we found it overpriced with sub-standard food even for Nepalese standards. There is too much hype about the restaurant.

The sekua [roasted marinated meat] was tough, in-edible, dal watery and tasteless, mis-mas tarkari was only cauliflower and potatoes missing the veggies the other restaurants were offering! Small bowl of rice Rs 150 ++[$2]!

The group on the adjacent table had 75% food leftover and were commenting on the tasteless fare except for one who was obviously very starved.

Dinner bill two of us [my wife was vegetarian] with 4 items from the menu + one beer @ Rs 1600 [$30], - had dinner the next night at another lovely specialty restaurant at a fraction of the cost.

The reviews posted by the other people here probably refers more to the hospitality by this restaurant than the quality of food - the traditional Nepalese hospitality is a part of the service at ALL restaurants by the way.

I would NEVER recommend this restaurant for its food - it's a different matter altogether if you want to watch their cultural program [obviously being charged in the bill but never being said so]

We have both eaten in and had take away from this restaurant and have been astounded at the freshness and quality of the food.

The restaurant specialises in Nepalese food (very similar to Indian). On our dine in experience we shared the Momo (steamed lamb dumplings) and the Lamb Samosa - both were very fresh with excellent quality lamb, These where accompanied by a couple of dipping sauces and an onion salad. They have an extensive number of choices for starters (including vegetarian and seafood options) and they range from £1.95 for the onion bhaji through to £4.95 for the mixed tandoori starter,

For main course we shared the Kathmandu Sizzler (a fried chicken noodle dish that comes out on a sizzle plate) and a Lamb Rogan with Pilau rice.

The proprietor was fantastically attentive and gave us complimentary Pistachio ice-cream for dessert. The only downside was it was quiet......but this is only a new place....so hopefully word spreads.

After being impressed with the restaurant, we followed up a couple of weeks later on a lazy Friday night and had home delivery. Again the food excelled, and we were given a free side order of the most fantastic Mushroom Bhaji. This was so good it will become a staple on it's own.

45 minutes after the food arrived, the manager called to ask how dinner was.

A pleasure to find a non-formula, chain operation with staff that provide excellent attentive service,

I have both dined in and had takeaway from this restaraunt. Both times the food was brilliant and the service was excellent - they even rang to ensure we enjoyed the takeaway.

I can recommend the momos and Kathmandu sizzler - very tasty and sizeable portions. The papapums and chutney were a nice distraction while reading through the extensive menu.

I thought the food was fantastic and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this restaurant.
