Green Door Steakhouse

We sort of stumbled upon this restaurant last night and I have to say it was fantastic!
It reminded me a lot of restaurants you find in New York with a quality bar, straight forward menu, great quality food, good service and modern but still cosy decor.
I started with aspargus spears which were huge and cooked with balsamic. The Mrs had a fillet steak which she raved about and I had a great big lamb shank with mash. Didn't try the dessert but two courses and drinks came to a little over £60. Good stuff!
I'm sure that we'll be going back soon.

I love a good steak I do! So when I went to the Green Door I was at first a little apprehensive, with them claiming to serve up the best steaks in London.
As soon as she seated me I realised that the service was going to be great...Johanna is an amazing waitress...I just had to wait to see how good the food was...
The fillet was so well cooked...medium to perfection! It was served to me in good time with style and panache.
This restaurant seems like the sort of place I could dine time and time again. I shall be dining there again and I will be telling all of my friends too as well

I can't say anything about the food as I only went in for a quick drink after work, but the bar is OUTSTANDING
Before I knew it the barmen had me enthralled with their witty banter and tales from around the world. A very cheeky way to get me buying more drinks! After a splendid Cosmopolitan, two of the finest mojito's I've encountered in London and a Manhattan that can only be decribed as out-of-this-world (and I like to think I know a good Manhattan when I taste one), I was rather merry and making promises to return as soon as possible.
And I shall as soon as I get a chance!

I fly to London 6+ times a year and have fallen in love with this place. The decor is wonderful, specifically the photos on the walls. I could spend hours looking at them, but a medium rare Chateaubriand beckons.
On the whole the place is clean and seductive, with a good range of music (the stray teenager song can be overlooked). And great staff, a fantastic mix of personalities.
It seems the menu is geared towards adults with no children options available at all. Which is great! There are often children in high chairs however well contained and behaved.
However. The Wine menu is limited at best and I would like to see it changed every 6-8 months. But on the plus, this American has found a spectacular Martini watering hole. I do mean spectacular.
A home away from home...shame it's not AT home.

We recently went to the steak house for a birthday dinner, we had a great night with nice surroundings, the Goats cheese and mushrooms were fantastic and the sea bass was bliss. Excellant value for money!!!!!!
Well worth a visit, we are going back this weekend......... :)

My wife and I dined here last weekend, we usually use Sophies on the Fulham Road, not any more.
The Green Door is a different class, fabulous decor, friendly staff and great value.
Steaks were equally as good if not better and the wine list, though quite small, was good value.
What more could a meat eater want!
