your comments review this restaurant and win a bottle of champagne
A group of 6 visited The Brasserie on Friday 4 November.
On being met we were shown to our table and menus arrived soon after. There was a good selection of items suiting all tastes . We ordered wine and main courses.
5 main courses were delivered and we began the wait for the 6th to be presented before commencing. After a wait of app. 10mins it was obvious that the 6th dish had been forgotten and, since our main courses were now cold, they were sent back. The management served a free bottle of champagne as recompense.
The main dining room was app. ¼ full. Our table was situated close to the stairs leading to the toilets and next to a stack of chairs that had been moved to the side of the room…not the best looking feature. There was a constant draft blowing through the room and after at least two requests from diners on my table no effort was made to deal with the issue by staff.
The food was well presented however the portions were very small…to be honest, given the cost and average taste of the mixed grill I would call it a ‘rip off’ at £28.
At 9.30 the staff began clearing parts of the room by moving tables to the side and stacking chairs…hardly the most professional and welcoming of backdrops to be enjoying with colleagues and friends.
A fantastic venue in a great location spoilt by poor service, mediocre cooking and poor attention to detail.

I went to Lombard last night for something a little different. I was looking forward to the degustation menu and especially as it was only £25 per person through this site as a special offer. My girlfriend and I had a truly wonderful experience and everything was perfect from the service, the table the recommended wine and especially the exquisite menu that was on offer.
My only little complaint is that the 'special offer' is not really that special as the 5 course degustation menu costs £25 per person anyway. Still if that is the only complaint then I would say to anybody to go and try it midweek and experience a magical dining experience.

A collegue and I took advantage of the Times offer...I always seem to clip them when they come out...and always seem to forget to actually use them! So this this I remembered...but couldn't find a list of the restaurants taking part...1 Lombard St was one of few that I remembered...
We had been on a Dr Johnson walk...so we knew we would be in the area...
The atmosphere was buzzing in both the brasserie and in the restaurant...I'm pleased they gave us a table in the restaurant as the room was very nice...
Three course for 20.00 pounds was outstanding value! Yes, we could have ordered a less expensive bottle of wine...but for 60.00 we really enjoyed the reccomended Puligny Montrachet.
The chilled gazpacho was good. The main of sear stone sea bass with provencal vegetables and bail mash was a lovely dish.
We finished off with the selection of cheese(at no extra supp) and the choice and presentation was just perfect.I know it's not always possible but I love being given the chance of looking at the cheese trolley or tray...always a treat. The labels for the cheese was also a good idea.Well done!
I'm out of my area for this place but it was a good meal with good service...so no complaints!

My partner and I ate here last night, opting for the 3 course for £25 set menu. I recommend this option to anyone looking for good food at a good price.
The entree was a carrot and chorizo soup, which was delicious. Starter was salmon, which you barely had to touch with the knife for it to be cut, and that too was fantastic. Chef's surprise was sea bass, also delicious, and the main of lamb with mash and vegetables was cooked perfectly. Dessert was warm strawberries with ice cream, which was nice if a touch simple, but for what you are paying it's still worth it.
The restaurant was quiet when we arrived, so our service was prompt, but even when more tables arrived our waiter and waitress were just as attentive, and told us exactly what we were eating, and our glasses were never allowed to run low.
We would definitely go back again.

My husband and I went on Wednesday on a London Restaurant Week deal. Everything from start to finish was amazing. The food was some of the best I've ever eaten, particularly the steak main course, and all presented beautifully. The meal was £25 for three courses, but you got an amuse-bouche (a wonderful gazpacho served in an espresso cup) and a pre-dessert as well, and a glass of wine. We ordered coffee afterwards (£3 each) and it came with these stunning petits fours served on a slate tile. The home-made nougat was a real highlight.
The restaurant is at the back of the building with the (much louder, larger and buzzier) brasserie at the front. It was pretty quiet when we arrived but filled up and there was a nice low hum of chatter. We like to talk to each other when we go out to eat, so although it might have been too quiet for some it was perfect for us.
The service was efficient, friendly and unobtrusive. I don't drink alcohol and was just going to skip the wine but they offered me any non-alcoholic drink instead - first restaurant I've been to that's done that. We probably couldn't afford to eat here a la carte but if there was ever another deal like the one we had we'd be straight back there. Highly recommended.
