There was a great atmosphere when I went on Friday night for supper. It is essentially a steak house but with a British twist. Those people that like restaurants like Gaucho Grill or Sophie's Steakhouse for example would love this place. The food was excellent and the service friendly and efficient. Highly recommend.

I went to Bowler's this week with a friend on the 50% off the food bill offer; we were delighted to find that before 8pm there is also 50% off cocktails, so we felt able to indulge ourselves. It was early on Tuesday evening - the place was relatively quiet, with a informal atmosphere. Service from the waitress was friendly but not too intrusive. The wine list was shortish but reasonable - in between cocktails we had a bottle of Cote de Blaye at £24. For our mains we had sirloin steak and duck respectively - both well cooked and the duck came with juniper berries, which gave it a bit of a kick. Puds were a very acceptable Eton Mess and Poire William pear tart. With tip the total bill was a little over £70. We can only agree with the positive reviews that BB&G has received.

If you are in the neighbourhood - and it is only a few minutes' walk from South Ken Tube - this is somewhere that I would recommend for a relaxing early evening meal and/or cocktails.

We visited this wonderful Bar and Grill after reading the reviews on a recent weekend trip. The food, atmosphere and staff were fantastic, we could not fault anything. After turning up late, as we were delayed on the tube ,we were greeted with wonderful service and welcoming staff who served up delicious well cooked food. This is truly a wonderful find, well worth a visit, we will be back for more!

It is only a matter of time before word spreads as to this place's appeal.

I went with some family members last night and the place was dead but the atmosphere was charming nevertheless and the staff were informative and very keen (by the end rather annoyingly so in my opinion!) to discuss each and every dish presented. I presume that is because they only had a few other tables to serve, but it demonstrated a level of service which is not otherwise afforded in most restaurants.

The food was very good: tender and very tastey squid to start with followed by a well cooked and very tastey sirloin steak. The food is pitched at a similar level to Sophie's steakhouse (they have their own steak sauce as well) but I think it is executed better here. It is unlikely to be as packed as Sophie's but at least you can book a table. The bar area is very attractive too.

My main concern is the location. Even though they have spent a lot of money on a fantastically bright sign (and also a lot on money on the interior), it is tucked away down a side street which will mean it will rely on word of mouth more than passing trade. I hope this website will prompt a flurry of word of mouth visits as this restaurant deserves a decent run.

I've been here a few times now since it opened and it has always been fantastic. The restaurant itself is really welcoming and comfortable - you can easily spend a good few hours here whether it's brunch at the weekend or a celebratory dinner with friends! The food itself is fantastic - really classic food, like fish and chips, steaks, sandwiches, salads but really freshly made and diverse, they don't skimp on anything and I don't know who their meat supplier is but the meat is to die for! Had a sneaky dessert once or twice and they're great too! Overall would give the restaurant 10 out of 10, the location is great (5 min walk from South Kensington station), the staff are really friendly, the drinks list is really diverse and well picked, and the food is fantastic! You must try.
