Brief visit before the theatre. Drinks and desserts and the waitress could not have been more welcoming when we told her we only needed drinks. Superb cheesecake and apple strudel albeit rather large. Glass of wine poured from the bottle at the table a nice touch. Pleasant stop, would visit again.

Really not great :-(

The service was fine and the waitress friendly enough.

The food - very poor! I had a Full English Breakfast... It wasn't hot and it was definitely cold by the time I'd finished. The bacon was had a very strange grey/green tinge to it.

The restaurant itself was pretty grubby - could do with a deep clean.

Call in Kim and Aggie!!!

La Roche is quite possibly the most depressing restaurant in London.

When I went there I ordered a light dinner of two starters - a lamb meatball dish and a cucumber and yoghurt salad with mint. The meatballs were decidedly blah but basically fine; the cucumber and yoghurt SALAD was a bowl of yoghurt with a single halved slice of cucumber on top. The 'mint' was a few shakes of dried mint across the top. I assume the chef would have had dried mint before and would have known that it tastes absolutely nothing like fresh mint. My main gripe though is that it was a bowl of yoghurt, not a salad.

Anyway, La Roche is your standard theatreland schlock so no real surprises there. Or with that it cost nearly £15 for three lumps of mince and a bowl of yoghurt.

What really got my hackles up, however, was that as my meal was brought to me they told me that my table was reserved and that I had 15 minutes to eat my it and go. My protests that *perhaps* they should have told me that before I ordered or even put a reserved notice down fell on deaf ears, or, to be precise, the waitress's retreating back.

A pretty depressing experience and one that I'll never ever EVER repeat.

I have gone out of my way to say that "La Roche" provided the worst customer service I experienced in my 10 days in London. The waitress was friendly at first had an immediate change of heart when we didn't order drinks with our appetizers (she wasn't going to get as large of a tip because we didn't buy drinks). She didn't smile when taking back our menus, and she then threw them down on a nearby chair very obscenely.

We watched her sip back a drink as we waited several minutes for her to finally get us some water. When our food arrived we found out the terrible value we were getting for our money, the courses were very tiny and highly overpriced. The food its self was not great but not terrible.

I recommend avoiding "La Roche" for the poor service and food, I wish we had gone to Subway again instead of taking the chance.

I have been to this restaurant a number of times and the food is good and the staff have always been attentive. It's in an excellent location if a theatre trip is on the cards.

However, I do feel that it is slightly over-priced. Although the food is good, the portions are small for the price and I feel the place is now in need of a lick of paint, as it's starting to look a little tired. Not a lot of atmosphere but I have always been early evening before a show, so this might not be the case later on.

I feel it's time for me to find an alternative - particularly in the current economic climate.

We celebrated ouf 25th wedding anniversary with a wonderful show and topped it all with a great meal!

The food was excellent, service very good and very friendly and attentive.

Would certainly recommend and intend to go again!
