Booked this for Valentine's dinner with boyfreind. I expected bad things after reading some online reviews but was pleasently surprised.
The atmosphere was great, everyone seemed to get into the swing of things and cheered on throughout the night. The food was ok, not deluxe but filling. The free wine was bit warm and not that great but I mixed it with another drink and it did its required job. The free beer wasn't even touched by my boyf but we were still merry by end of night.
The service was prompt and friendly, no sulking waitresses. The entertainment was good aswell. Would have liked to have stayed longer but last trains were leaving.
Overall, its a fun night out. It's not for boring quiet people or ones looking for gourmet grub. Great for parties and office do's! It's exactly what you would expect from a themed night out! Fun!

I have never before been prompted to write a review of a venue before, but in all my years of organising the annual office party, I, nor my colleagues, have never experienced such a terrible evening out.
Our event, held in January, turned out to be a total nightmare. We sat down to eat at 19.45; the first course appeared at 21.00; it was 22.00 before we saw the main course. Unfortunately, both were inedible and prompted a walk-out from our party, who were in no mood to wait around for a dessert we assumed would be no better. During this time of waiting, we were 'entertained' continually, to the point that all we wanted the assorted jesters and wenches to do was to shut up and leave us alone.
Despite our best efforts to remain in good spirits and 'make the most' of our evening, I am afraid most of us lost the will to continue. Sadly the management have refused to listen to our concerns and therefore I could not recommend anyone paying £45 per head for such an evening (be it a large or small or family group) - the words 'rip-off' spring to mind.

Our company went here for our Christmas party on Friday 21st Dec. After a nice starter, everything started going downhill drastically.
Where do I start? The entertainment looked like it was made up on the spot. The sword fight was the only properly rehearsed piece. The dancers were all looking at each other nervously for cues.
After quite a good starter (salmon) and ok soup, the main meal was awful. Boiled to death chicken in bisto gravy.
As for the unlimited drink, one jug amongst 15 people only lasts a few minutes and the jugs were few and far between. With only one member of staff to serve all 50 of us, she had too much to do. Once when I asked her for another jug for our table she chided me saying that we shouldn't all drink so much and it's a long way from the bar to our tables. At your Christmas party you don't really expect this.
Don't go there!

A group of us went in December and had a great time. The toilets do smell like an old London sewer but the staff were brilliant and the atmosphere was fantastic. I thought for a set party meal was very good value, and there was no shortage of drink.
I would recommend it for work partys, birthdays, stag and hen nights. Have a couple of drinks to warm up before you go as the fun starts the minute you walk in the door!

I have never written a review for anything ever before, but this place is sooooo bad I just had to. We spent £110 per person on new years eve and I wish we had stayed at home. The staff were not friendly and it was one of those places where they make you feel like they are doing you a favour by allowing you in there. The starter was very good, but the rest wass awful - particularly the main course - the steak was like rubber. One caveat is that I guess that this place would not be so bad for a family with children, but all in all it's a rip off.

A group of 15 of us went for a work christmas do on Thursday 21st December 2007. We paid £55 a head which was for a 4 course meal and beer/wine, unlimited during the meal. Having read the reviews I was somewhat concerned, but quite frankly we had a great night out. I think you need to have the right attitude to the evening and I would have paid the money just for the venue. It is a little difficult to find being set in a lovely dock which you can only access by foot, the banquet hall being in the 'wine cellar' of a victorian dock side wharehouse. The dock is beautifully lit, has walkways, footbridges, boutiques and wonderful boats. There was a que when we arrived but we were only outside for 5 minuetes. You are met by knights and wenches and given a glass of cider. You then go to your tables which are set boff of the man hall into alcoves. The tables seat about 50 each. The entertainment is live and loud, consisting of a very enthusiasitc 'beefeater' who merryily sings the night away, a court jester playing the guitar, dancing girls, sword fighting knights, jesters and juggelers. the food was OK, rustic and tasty but don't expect a gastronomic delight. the beer & wine was drinkable but go for the 'fun' experience and entertainment and you will have a good night out, dancing the disco until midnight. We didn't spend any money as we had plenty of beer & wine from the meal but there is a bar if you need it. So really, for £55 for a night out all in in in central London it's really quite good fun and value.

If you arrive drunk, stay drunk and leave before you sober up, it's almost bearable!

I went to a party there on 14 December. It was completely dreadful. Totally disorganised, it was if it came as surprise that 500 people had turned up expecting to come in and have some food and drink. We had to stand outside in the freezing cold with the rest of the mob for about 20 minutes. The place was overly full, service dreadful (in fact calling what we had "service" is pushing it a bit far), the food was sort of flung at us and we didn't have plates, cutlery or glasses. We had to ask for everything before it was supplied,. The food was not that awful but we were into our second course before we managed to get anything to drink. We weren't even given any cutlery until after the first course was served. Having paid£55 a head I feel completely robbed. Do not go this place.
