I went with work for a very early Xmas outing! We were all in a good mood so the atmosphere was set to be good. The entertainment was acceptable although due to the huge number of diners it was very impersonal. The 'wenches' were certainly friendly enough and the service was fine, however this wasn't to hard as most of it was 'self service', the food having been delivered to the table first.
The food was fine but not really a 'banquet' - more like something I could serve up at home, (and I'm no cook). The roast potatoes were very like 'auntie Bessie's' and the chicken also fairly plain and unexciting. The soup was pleasant enough and the cold platter also nice although there wasn't that much of it. The cherry pie was good. It would have been nice if the food had been a bit more interesting/adventurous/original.
I'm afraid I found the wine truly unpalatable and literally hard to swallow. I didn't taste the beer since I was drinking wine but I didn't think it looked very apetising-kind of filmy in he glass. Shame there was no soft drink option-only tap water. Could a bit of lemonade really cost more than the wine served? Actually, with the description above in mind, maybe it could!
To sum up, the experience was fun enough because we were in a group but I think if I 'd come with just a couple of friends the evening would have felt more flat. I think the high charges really reflect the prime tourist location more than realistic value for money.

This cost us £44 per head. people whom we met paid £40 per head. At door price was £49 per head.
We thought that this was a very good evening. We enjoyed the food and wine, the medieval entertainment and the great, international company. One couple arrived unhappy and left (no doubt) to ask for their money back. It was written all over them from the moment that they enterted.
Honestly, if you wanted top notch food then spend your £40-£50 elsewhere, but if you wanted some rollicking good fun and you haven't got anything 'better' to compare it with, then give this a go.
I know that they do 'super' banquets in Herts, Wilts and Hants, but for heaven's sakes, you can combine this with the Tower of London.
Do yourself a favour and do it once.
We are going to return with family and friends!!

We went as a group of 10 persons and had an absolutely memorable and enjoyable time. We did not go just for the food, we went for the entertainment and we thorougly enjoyed the experience and the performances. Food and Wine was a great bonus. Where in London can you get Medieval English Entertainment with food and wine thrown in. We were looked after well.. We are planning to go again in December with a larger group of us. It is definitely not a restaraunt but a great entertainment venue to relax and to let your hair down.

Went last night with my wife, my brother and his wife. A really enjoyable time. Friendly staff, food very good and wine pleasant. Entertainment was great fun and very professional. I really liked the contortionist! The venue helps to create a good atmosphere.

I am sorry to say this but clearly the past reviews have either been written by the staff or the owners of the venue. We had a works doo here last week and although the atmosphere was cheerful for most of the night the food was an absolute let down we payed £50 per head and was expecting a banquet as advertised,, this it most definitely was not. The free inclusive wine and beer was very weak and seemed watered down and although was promised to be free all night we asked for more wine when we received our desserts and was told there was no more as the entertainment had stopped and were directed to the bar to buy some.
The food was what i can describe on a par with aeroplane food. first course began with a jug of soup between the six of us which was ok followed by a soggy tasteless quiche. Then we were blessed with some theatrical acts but to be honest we couldnt really see them due to the cave we were in, each table thoughout the venue was situated in caves rather than the open space we had all hoped for - this makes it hard for anyone at the rear to see any of the 'acts' .The main course of food finally arrived consisting of a single aunt bessie style dry potato, a strange small single portion of meat that none of us could decide if it was chicken or duck and a few onions... That was basically it! We waited for at least ten minutes in the vain hope we may receive some veg or type of gravy with our meal at least to make the plate look some what more full and slightly tasteful but it never happened.
The acts were a novelty but nothing special, the meal awful, free drink was lame, then the whole event became a lot worse when the acts vanished and awful cheesy chart music was suddenly blasted out this resulting in most of the tables leaving, a sure way to empty the venue by the staff maybe? We felt completely ripped off and would not recommend this tourist trap to anyone, if you look around there are much better ways to spend an evening and REAL banquets out there!!! be warned.

This place was utterly awful. We had an office do here and we totally wished we hadn't wasted our cash. It was supposed to be free wine and beer with the meal but it seemed very watered down and tasteless. Rip off! Entertainment was rubbish. The meal was extremely poor quality and more like a school canteen. Hardly worth of a banquet!
A Big Disappointment.

At £50 quid each it was terrible. The food was worse than hospital canteen food! The entertainment is amateur and repetitive although the performers were doing their best to be fair.
Stay away and spend your money on a real theatre or restaurant.
