At £50 quid each it was terrible. The food was worse than hospital canteen food! The entertainment is amateur and repetitive although the performers were doing their best to be fair.

Stay away and spend your money on a real theatre or restaurant.

This place is an utter rip-off. The food terrible. The entertainment was laughable awful. It is billed as an 'experience'. We had a terrible experience. Don't bother with this pace. It's rubbish.

i went to the Medieval Banquet at the weekend with work colleagues, didn't know what to expect. Firstly we had a great time, the staff were friendly, the atmosphere was good, and the entertainment was good.

don't know what some people expect, but i believe it is down to what company you are with, and make it a good night, and if you go in there with a frosty mind, then you wont enjoy it.

I was there with my family last month. My god what a waste of money that was. My sons were persuaded by "THEATRE EXPERIENCE" we had been sold. Mamma Mia that must be as far from a theatre as you can be.

Clearly amateur jugglers and sword fighters are what they call theatre experience or perhaps banging tables and shouting "go wench". Food was trully awful ; basic 200g potatos, a piece of chicken and loads of (guess why) onion. Cost price £1.20 max. Selling price £120 for 3 of us.This must be the most expensive meal around.

Wine, well not much different from water apart from the colour of course.

Shame this leaves us with bad memories of our London visit.

This is an awful tourist trap. For £50, you expect excellent food and drink and quality entertainment in a location that befits a medieval banquet.

What we got at The Medieval Banquet in St. Katherine's Dock was nothing of the sort! The location set under railway bridge eaves was more akin to a dungeon than somewhere palatial. The food was hardly banquet food. I would not feed any of what was offered to my dog. The so-called unlimited free beer and wine tasted deliberately awful forcing the unfortunate victims to go and buy better drinks at the bar. It's a cynical attempt to up-sell. The 'entertainment' was tacky and amateurish. Quite honestly, if any of them were subjects in my court, they would have all been hung, drawn and quartered by the end of the main course!!

I have attended Medieval Banquets at Warwick Castle and Coombe Abbey and they are leagues above what was being doled out at this venue.... and it was less expensive.

It's ridiculous that Medieval Banquet is listed as a top ten culinary destination on this website. It's an insult to other restaurants who do care about what they are serving to their customers.

So, if you want an evening of poor food and drink in a faux-medieval setting and a real feeling you have been ripped-off by the end of the 'experience' then this is the place for you. If your palate is a little more discerning, go ANYWHERE other than this terrible place!

I went with my work to this medieval banquet last night and I was very disappointed. We sat in the first 'tunnel' and couldn't see a thing.

The food took ages to arrive, the soup was nice then we had to put up with some awful music and singing. It really was the worst music I had ever heard. Then a course of meat came, well that was a few thin slices of meat with pate. Hardly any food at all and by this time I was starving. Another course of dreadful music came, then the main course which was very dried chicken and an overdone baked potato. After this more music and then a cherry pie.

The wine was awful so I had to order from the bar, music was awful and loud and the food was awful and not enough. If I had paid for it myself I would have been very annoyed.

Save your money and go somewhere else.

We spent 7 days in London doing all the usual sites.

Between all the traditional museums and sites this was one of my favourites. My husband and I took my 6 year old son and our 6 year old nephew. They loved it! The utensil-free soup was excellent, and the entertainment was out of this world. Very realistic fighting. The costumes and weapons are true to their times. The serving wenches were very efficient and friendly. The king even let us have our picture made with him!!! The kids really got into cheering for our knight!!! (We had to keep explaining afterwards that these knights weren't actually killed, it looked so real!!) Whether you are a history buff, romantic, or just love a good show, this is it!!

I don't know what these other reviewers are talking about, the potatoes were fine and teh chicken was well cooked. The wine was definitely not the best, but what do you expect when it is unlimited. We actually upgraded to a nice bottle of white that we really enjoyed.

I agree. I was there recently with my group. I was served cold, burned potatoes, tasteless cheap chicken. I won't mention wine. The worst wine I tried in my life. Price £50. They like selling themselves to offer theatre experience. Just wondering if they ever been to a theatre. Total rip off.

One of the worst restaurants I've been to in London. Food is terrible. So much so that I can't belive that the positive reviews are genuine. For London Eating to list this place in the top ten best restaurants in London is laughable. Avoid.
