I have been to Simp a number of times. Introduced by my Italian boyfriend.
I think the food AND the service are both superb. I am never disappointed with either.
Simplice is one of my favourite places to eat and I would highly recommend it to others.
It's not over decorated and glamorous such as Claridges and others but the food speaks for itself.
I can't understand why anyone would complain about this restaurant. It's perfect for corporate dinners and personal celebrations.
Absolutely adore it!

Exceptionally disappointing. Decor is hideous wavy gilt. Tables too close together. Service inexperienced and incompetent (one waiter waved down my request to talk to him). Food was unseasoned and depressing. We were disappointed in our starters and I returned my main course. Dessert utterly forgettable. How this place gets a Michelin star beyond me. Avoid

After reading so much about the restaurant, I was slightly dissapointed .The starter (octopus with beans) was salty and very soggy. The main course (roast pig with dried tomatoes, olives and sauted gnocchi) was not a great combination, eventhough the pork was very tender. The dessert (tiramisu) was very good. Over all I struggled to understand why this restaurant was awarded a Michelin star.

I booked a table for four at this restaurant on a friends recommendation to celebrate two birthdays and left on a huge high.
The restaurant is everything the name indicates - simple. Minimalistic decor, simple clean exquisite food, served simply and perfectly. The wines were fantastic, mostly Italian as one would expect them to be. The amuse bouche were to die for and served in a nice original way. The after dinner cheese selection was most delightful and perfectly accompanied with superb quality port.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this delightful restaurant in the heart of Mayfair and will certainly be revisiting in the not too distant future.

Had plans to take a friend who has been travelling for many months to Ristorante Semplice for lunch to celebrate her return. Having failed to book, however, it seemed unlikely that we would get a table. Decided on cocktails at Claridges for pre lunch fun, and then attempted a walk in about 15 minutes before last orders. Met by a rather difficult receptionist who just shook her head when I asked if there was a chance of us eating. Seeing people paying their bills, I decided to persist (nicely of course), and lo-and-behold, a table was made available. Plain sailing from there on it - we started with some fantastic Italian sparkling wine made in the same way as Champagne from Lake Garda. Wonderful. Shared some Fassone beef carpaccio as a little pre starter. Wonderful. I had a risotto with white Alba truffles (its near the end of the season - I had to) after, which was superb. I followed with the rabbit, which I was told was a signature dish, and it was marvellous. I often worry about Italian restaurants having ridiculously large portions but this was just right - enough to leave me full but not bursting. No room for pudding so after we finished our wine - a delightful blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay (sounds bizarre I know, but try it - Terlaner Classico) - we decided to hit the shops for some Christmas shopping. A great experience - great staff (even the receptionist warmed to us), can't wait to go back
