Tartufo Trattoria

My boyfriend took me for dinner here last night after he'd been with a friend a while ago, and it was absolutely delicious. The calf's liver and mashed potatoes is dreamily good, and the sort of thing i crave.

whoever wrote "why can't all small restuarants be like this?" is just right. It is perfect here, in a really quiet street, with plenty of opportunities for people-watching.

Everything on the menu sounded amazing, and from what we saw, everyone had ordered something that looked fantastic, and was really enjoying their dinner. There are only about 6 tables upstairs on the street level, but it doesn't feel cramped at all - quite the opposite.

We didn't get to try to pudding (too full!) but will do another time..

Definitely somewhere that will become a favourite.

There are not enough superlatives to describe this restaurant! I visited for the first time in January after a business meeting. The three of us were made most welcome. Because of time constraints we only had time for two courses and had to skip dessert and coffee. The food was fantastic – freshly prepared and full of flavour. And for central London the bill was not unreasonable. We went back for an evening meal four weeks later. This time we met the chef. He is enthusiastic about cooking, food and flavours. It tells as every course was immaculately prepared and presented. The flavours are both simple and fantastic – how true Italian food should be. I have been back a number of times and it never disappoints – be it pasta, or meat or fish. Combined with the brilliant service it is potentially one of the best restaurants in London!

this is a lovely restaurant which I now visit every week or so. In my meat-eating days I thought their liver and mash was exceptional. As a new veggie I often have their pumpkin spelt salad and rate it very highly.

The staff are charming and I have never had a bad meal there.

this is a gem! wonderful tasty Italian food, very reasonably priced, friendly service and also pretty fast service at lunchtime, which is great. I have recemended this restaurant to several friend, all of whom have enjoyed the experience also!

Why can't all small restaurants be like this? It shouldn't be unusual for a restuarant to take pride in their food and presentation but sadly it seems to be a rare treat. Tartufo offers properly cooked Italian food, friendly service, and reasonable prices. Great for a quick bite or a lingering meal. I have seen a few restaurants come and go in this highly competitive location - but Tartufo has the balance just right. The seafood salad to start with was particularly delicious - but every dish was thoughtfully prepared. I hope they can keep it up!
