Hop & Spice

It took me a while to fully understand the Hop & Spice concept - it's pretty clever. This is a Sri Lankan restaurant that serves world beers. The food is kinda like Indian ... but not. It seems lighter, healthier, and I reckon on the basis of this place , tastier. The food is served in small pots so you get to try lots of different flavours, but they're deceptively filling.
To boot - it's nicely decked out, has a great buzz, but is still relaxed. Add in good value and good service and you can understand why I'm delighted it's at the end of my road!

We recently went here with a bunch of mates to celebrate a birthday and had a great evening. The Sri Lankan curries were lovely - not as hot as the real thing but really tasty and delicious. The service was also very attentive and they didn't seem to mind when we ended up getting a bit rowdy towards the end of the evening. The atmosphere was really fun, nice and lively music for a Saturday night. Generally, the Hop and Spice was a great all round package for a large group. Incidentally, there were plenty of couples there too.
