I took my husband to the Mantra last week for his birthday. We travelled from south-east london and wasnt really sure what to expect.
We were NOT disappointed! Once you take in the lighting and the decor, which is very different, it has a warm, friendly atmosphere. I liked the decor, not your conventional indian restaurant and it makes a nice change.
The food was absolutely fantastic. We loved it, fresh, authentic and spicy. Some indian restaurants, when not serving your usual indian fare, can result in the food being bland and very mild.
The service was efficient, friendly and seemed genuinely interested to know if we enjoyed our meal.
We have eaten in many, many indian restaurants around the world and this ranks in the top few which we enjoyed thoroughly.
On the whole, fantastic food in a different setting. We will definitely be going back!

My partner and I visited mantra last night and had a fantastic meal. 3 wonderful courses at reasonable prices, attentive staff who didn't rush us whatsoever. The place has a warm atmosphere..the lighting is a little strange to get used to at first, but truly adds to the expreience. All in all, a reasnably priced, charming local restaurant!

The service and quality of Indian food you served is articulate. I surely recommend this to all my air crew colleagues who need a nice and pleasant dinner evening after a tiring long haul flight, while a stopover at Heathrow.
Thank you for taking care of us on our visit to your restaurant. I will surely come back to this place on my next stop over to London .

If you're bored of Baltis and Bhunas and you're around West London, seriously consider the trip to Mantra in Hounslow. I've been eating in Indian restaurants for over ten years and it made a brilliant change to find somewhere daring to be different. An exciting and varied menu, a large drinks selection and some contemporary decor and music made for an excellent dining experience. There was not a duff dish amongst the few my wife and I tried, but I have to mention the broccoli and cream cheese starter, along with the black lentil side dish, both of which were completely moreish. The meal was finished off with some gorgeous home-made ice creams, and we were refreshed with some exquisite and original mocktails.
While we would heartily recommend the restaurant to our friends and we will certainly go back, the service was a little on the slow side when it came to clearing glasses and offering top-ups, but the waitresses and the restaurant manager were very helpful when it came to choosing from the menu. Prices are a little above average for the area, but the menu and surroundings are so unique that we certainly wouldn't quibble at a few pounds extra given the overall superb quality.

Truly the best Indian meal I've had in London: lamb shanks were marinaded and cooked to perfection, the paneer was excellent, and the garlic naans were perfect.
Personally loved the decor (unlike my better half), but we both agreed that the food more than made up for it. A lovely evening rounded off with delicious homemade kiwi sorbet which was the perfect balance of sweet and tangy.
Will definitely recommend Mantra to our friends, although I'm already looking forward to my next visit there!

I went there about a month ago. I can't believe it is in the top ten!!! The decor is amazing, however the food is over priced and the service is appauling. I had to wait 25mins for a coffee, and we were the only customers in the restaurant. I would not dine there again.

This is the standard that Indian food should be held to-world class quality and variety. The lamb chops are exceptional. Even the simple naan is high quality.

live in New Delhi , and was in London recently. My friends took me to this ever so interesting place in Hounslow. I met the people behind the design and style and am very impressed with the quality and style in which Indian food is presented here. Was told by our hostess that the desserts come all the way from Paris and they were ever so fresh. The Ice creams were good too.

I work for at the air India crew as a hostess for club world. Went to this place on a friends recommendation and was not disappointed at all. It’s the best Indian restaurant near Heathrow and gives a perfect feel as if you are in one of City’s Club. Must Go and must try Seekh Kebabs and Lamb Chops.

I have been here 3 times.
It is the only restaurant which serves Pudina Parantha which is originally a Delhi must eat.
Coming originally from India , I craved for butter chicken moti Mahal style for the entire duration of my stay of 9 months here, until I found this place.
I love taking all my friends who visit me from different parts of the world .
The Mock tails is excellent as well. Perfect as a cool down on a hot summer day!
