Very enjoyable lunch. I read some of the reviews on here and was a little hesitant but decided to go for it anyway. We went here for lunch today (4th July 08). The atmosphere was very pleasant. We had the business lunch at £8 per head. This was served as a series of small tasing dishes, very substantial and we were left feeling very full. Each dish was well prepared and full of interesting flavours. Service was good without being obtrusive.

Having read the good reviews I decided to book this venue for my birthday in May 08. I agreed on the set menu for a three course meal which was reasonable and I could choose what I wanted. Having booked a month in advance I was expecting good attention to service.

Lookswise it great. Different and funky. The night started off well. Even though I had agreed on a set menu extra food was offered in the courses which was good. The starters arrived on time and were good. However we had to wait an hour for main course to arrive. I was not happy and neither were my guests.

Overall the food was good, cocktails were ok too and all my 10 guests agreed but I would not go again. Its one of those you try out and dine with one or two people . I enjoyed the food, it was tasty, but the service was poor which can spoil the night. The manager had the nerve to blame the late service on me and my guests which didn't make sense. Can be bit pricy, if eating individually and depending on what you get but set menu was reasonable.

To top it all off they ruined my suprise birthday cake that had been planned for me! I would say definately try it for the food but not a group booking as the service is very bad and you don't want disappointed guests.

I was surprised to find such a nice restaurant in this area. Not only is the appearance trendy and very appealing, also the service is quite good, and both my boyfriend and I enjoyed each of the dishes we ordered. He was impressed I had taken him to such an special place taking into account I'm new to the area. But I had the help of "london-eating", to which I'm very grateful ;)

We went to Mantra on May 4th. Interior is very different, glass tables/plates, glass flooring, bright coloured cocoon type swivel chairs, coloured lighting, etc. you wouldn't be wrong for thinking you were somewhere trendy up town for a second!

There were very limited choices in the main course for meat eaters (2 chicken and 3 lamb). The lamb chops were something else, absolutely soft and succulent, a definite must have! The chicken tikka wasn't as tasty but again very succulent and the main chicken dish (korma like) was dissapointingly bland. If you're not big eaters like us then one starter, a main and a couple of naan's would be plenty!

Service was fine, no problems at all. Only one of the waitresses would actually ask if everything was fine.

Very fancy website and would recommend a visit. Just make sure you ask for a table in the back or middle section, avoid the table near the entrance door at all costs. I would agree to say some dishes are slightly overpriced considering its only Hounslow, but I guess they have to recoup the cost of that massive chandelier somehow.

I went to this restaurant after reading reviews from this website,

I can say....... It was NOT worth the trip

Ok ok ..... the atmosphere is very nice and extremely trendyy but which is probably why every dish is exceptionally expensive. The coke glasses are very unique as its a donut shaped glass with coke in it.

I would definately say food is very expensive, i ordered lamb chops for £8 and what did i get....

4 small lamb chops with hardly any meat on them, same goes for their spring chicken and prawns. Dishes were very small but pricy.

For main i ordered a chicken curry which was not the best in the world where each curry is probably just over £10.

The service was ok, 2 of the waitresses couldnt speak fluent english, so its hard to sometimes explain what we would like to order or if there is a problem.

Overalll i was not impressed and it was a waste journey.

Personally i wouldnt recommend it.......

Also for 5 people the bill came to £150...

The food is exceptional with with some new inventive dishes. I would strongly recommend you to have the crusty crab dish, it was simp[ly great. I really liked the ambience as well and the service was great. I need to really visit this pleace again to try other delicacies.

Food was good but the service was appauling. First visit was great but 2nd visit we had to wait 50 minutes for a table that we had pre booked then another family came in after us and were given a table whilst we still stood there waiting. Got fed up and left and the staff came running out after us trying to make excuses but we were not impressed. It is very expensive for a small restaurant in Hounslow.
