I recently discovered Priya and have been back about four times so far and have introduced several people to it. I try something different every time and it's always a winner.

I used to live off Brick Lane, so I know my curry houses well, but Priya is the best one I've ever eaten in. Seriously!

The food is outstanding, the staff are incredibly friendly and the prices are very cheap. Whenever I go, I generally have a starter, main, side and a beer and it rarely pushes the price beyond £10.

The restaurant is cafe-style and no frills, with limited tables, but I'm just fishing for flaws now. It's so close to Walthamstow tube station, it's worth a visit, even if you're not local.

We stopped at the Priya Restaurant on the way home to Cambridge after an afternoon in London. We were greeted by very friendly staff and managment. It was nice to be in an establishment where you don't feel like you are being rushed to get through your courses - service was at a nice relaxed pace. The manager was fantastic nothing was to much trouble and his recommendations were exactly to our taste. The food was fantastic after a holiday in Sri Lanka last year we have been very disappointed with the curries in England but the food here is authentic and probably the best I've had in the U.K. including Birmingham. Another very pleasant supprise was the bill extremely resonable. Keep up the good work!

I would definately recommend this restaurant.

When Priya opened in Walthamstow I thought it was just what Walthamstow Central needed. Good food, good value and nicely done up. The service could be a bit erratic but hey ho. I probably ate there once a week for the first two or three months so that I was well known to the manager. Then I took my parents there on a Sunday evening. It wasn't busy but the food must have taken an hour to arrive and when it did it was cold. I managed to get the attention of the manager, who was fawning over some other customers, but he said the food wasn't cold, mixed it all up in the dishes and went off. The food was still cold so we ate some of it and got the bill. I told him it had been cold after all and he just said, "Yeah?" After that I never went back. My scores reflect that last meal.

Hi,

Great place, I'm there almost every week (Wwalthamstow branch), never eaten more delicious curry (chicken devilled with additional chili - must try one).

Recently i've been awarded with free Kingfisher form manager, what else to add ;), never happened anything similar anywhere else :)

Best place ever, if only i could afford eating there everyday...

Lovely place - delicious food, great service and quite ridiculously cheap. Huge menu of all sorts of wonderful goodies and brilliant for vegetarians too. You'd have to visit an awful lot of times to try everything on the menu. For value for money in London, it would be hard to beat. Surprised to read a comment about bad service, I've never experienced anything but good service here and the food is truly some of the nicest spicy food I've had.

There's no doubting that the food in Priya is great, as is the atmosphere, decor etc And the value is fantastic but.... the service is terrible. I've been in half a dozen times and the service has been worse each time, so much so that I don't think I'll be rushing back. On one (rare dining out alone) ocassion, I was the only person in, only had a starter and main and I was there for two hours. Don't go if you are in a hurry!

Great restuarant near Walthamstow tube. Go there regularly and think that the value is superb. The food is not too heavy, nicely spiced and always delicious. The menu is very varied and we have yet to eat our way through it.

Very good for takeaway as well - they deliver quickly and the set meals are great for a selection to eat at home.

This is a real find. The food is delicious, fresh and spicy. The decor is cool, yet the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff are friendly and helpful, and happy to explain all about the dishes to us novices more used to kormas, dhansaks and masalas. We had the mysterious-sounding 'special devilled sizzling', which turned out to be all manner of spicy meat and seafood, a chicken dosai - a huge crispy pancake - and then got the best of all worlds with a set special meal, with a bit of everything. Tip - if they ask how spicy you want your 'sizzling', say 'mild' unless you have a tongue of asbestos...

A much needed excellent restaurant in Walthamstow. The food is fantastic - particularly the masala dosai starters with wondersful accompaniments plus the lamb curries and the Sri Lankan devilled chicken that comes sizzling. Really good value for the quality and inventiveness of the food. The fact that it's the first curry place we've been turned away because it's full, despite there being two floors. Highly recommended.
