Having moved to Walthamstow a year ago and never eaten out there (mainly due to every other eatery being either a Kebabish or Fried Chicken outlet), I saw the many good reviews for Priya and decided it was time to give it a go. Four of us went in on Saturday afternoon, and we were all impressed. The staff were very polite and had no problems adapting the menu for us (Vegetable Madras for myself, dry chicken tikka for my partner). As a vegetarian I was also impressed by the menu, with entire sections dedicated to vegetarian dishes. The service was a quite slow but we weren't in a hurry.

We all agreed that the meal was superb and they offered to put what little food we didn't finish in a doggy bag for us. For 4 of us, including drinks and a couple of starters/naans came to just over £50 which was a bargain. I'm looking forward to eating there again soon.

The south indian dosas are a speciality here. Yum!

Really good service too but can be slow if take away. They dont seem to prioritiise those waiting to take it home vs eating in.

Great prices too. Try out happy hour Mon-Sat noon till 5pm ish.

NB not sure about the fish curries and things can be a little too hot.

This restaurant is a real gem. The food is delicious - It's definitely the best place to eat in Walthamstow; so good, it's worth making the trip to E17 for it. The devilled fish and the aubergine with garlic are superb. Some other posts have complained about the service. They couldn't be more wrong, the staff are attentive, friendly and charming. Definitely to be recommended.

A group of us went here on Saturday night, having booked a table. We were shown straight to our table (none of that hanging around business). The staff were very polite and efficient. Service was good.

The menu contains many interesting dishes, as well as the usual. I had the mutton and ginger curry, which was superb. The sizzling chicken starter is out of this world! It was good value, costing £15 including two beers. I would go back like a shot.

I recently discovered Priya and have been back about four times so far and have introduced several people to it. I try something different every time and it's always a winner.

I used to live off Brick Lane, so I know my curry houses well, but Priya is the best one I've ever eaten in. Seriously!

The food is outstanding, the staff are incredibly friendly and the prices are very cheap. Whenever I go, I generally have a starter, main, side and a beer and it rarely pushes the price beyond £10.

The restaurant is cafe-style and no frills, with limited tables, but I'm just fishing for flaws now. It's so close to Walthamstow tube station, it's worth a visit, even if you're not local.

We stopped at the Priya Restaurant on the way home to Cambridge after an afternoon in London. We were greeted by very friendly staff and managment. It was nice to be in an establishment where you don't feel like you are being rushed to get through your courses - service was at a nice relaxed pace. The manager was fantastic nothing was to much trouble and his recommendations were exactly to our taste. The food was fantastic after a holiday in Sri Lanka last year we have been very disappointed with the curries in England but the food here is authentic and probably the best I've had in the U.K. including Birmingham. Another very pleasant supprise was the bill extremely resonable. Keep up the good work!

I would definately recommend this restaurant.

When Priya opened in Walthamstow I thought it was just what Walthamstow Central needed. Good food, good value and nicely done up. The service could be a bit erratic but hey ho. I probably ate there once a week for the first two or three months so that I was well known to the manager. Then I took my parents there on a Sunday evening. It wasn't busy but the food must have taken an hour to arrive and when it did it was cold. I managed to get the attention of the manager, who was fawning over some other customers, but he said the food wasn't cold, mixed it all up in the dishes and went off. The food was still cold so we ate some of it and got the bill. I told him it had been cold after all and he just said, "Yeah?" After that I never went back. My scores reflect that last meal.

Hi,

Great place, I'm there almost every week (Wwalthamstow branch), never eaten more delicious curry (chicken devilled with additional chili - must try one).

Recently i've been awarded with free Kingfisher form manager, what else to add ;), never happened anything similar anywhere else :)

Best place ever, if only i could afford eating there everyday...

Lovely place - delicious food, great service and quite ridiculously cheap. Huge menu of all sorts of wonderful goodies and brilliant for vegetarians too. You'd have to visit an awful lot of times to try everything on the menu. For value for money in London, it would be hard to beat. Surprised to read a comment about bad service, I've never experienced anything but good service here and the food is truly some of the nicest spicy food I've had.
