I recently visited priya restaurant, the food was very nice, my dad wouldn't stop going on about how excellent the food was, planning our next visit for saturday with the whole family. The service was a bit slow but then again the food made up for that. The staff were very good, my family were the only ones left in the restaurant around 11.30pm and they were waiting on us to close but did not pressure us into hurrying up.
Keep up the good work.
Thank you for such a delicious plate of food.

We used to enjoy everything about Priya, but our recent visit was very disappointing. The waiters did not understand our order, we could not get any wine by the glass, the poppadams arrived after the main course dishes started to arrive, the kadai prawns (previously wonderful) were too hot to eat and it took ages to clear the table. A real let-down.

This was probably one of the best restaurants in Walthamstow. I have been going there ever since I moved to Walthamstow more than 3 years ago. We used to frequent Priya's atleast once or twice a week for its authentic sri lankan food. We have recommanded loads of our friends there and it has never been a dissapointment at all.But of late in the last couple of month's I think it has lost its charm ever since their dedicated Manager ( Mr Mohan ) left the restaurant. The quality of food seemed to have dropped and its just about average and the efficiency level has dropped too. I realised that all the staff were new and I guess that the Chef's have probably changed to as the dishes that we normally ordered tasted very different. The waitress was not very welcoming either. It was a great dissapointment to having going back after a couple months. I dont think I would be going back there.
P/s - Please bring your old staff back. They were the best! :)

4 of us ate our here on a Saturday night- having not eaten sri lankan food before the waiter was happy to assist us with our menu choices. The speciality starters of dosa (giant filled pancakes) and the sizzling spicy chicken were huge and delicious. This wonderful first course was followed by simply fantastic mains including my favourtie the spicy prawns.
The service is a little slow, but it is nice not to feel rushed to get you off the table. The waiter was happy to arrange for dishes to be made milder or spicer according to our tastes. The food was fresh and was not bathed in oil like so many curry houses.
We are taking a large group there next week for my Birthday- can't wait!

The south indian dosas are a speciality here. Yum!
Really good service too but can be slow if take away. They dont seem to prioritiise those waiting to take it home vs eating in.
Great prices too. Try out happy hour Mon-Sat noon till 5pm ish.
NB not sure about the fish curries and things can be a little too hot.

This restaurant is a real gem. The food is delicious - It's definitely the best place to eat in Walthamstow; so good, it's worth making the trip to E17 for it. The devilled fish and the aubergine with garlic are superb. Some other posts have complained about the service. They couldn't be more wrong, the staff are attentive, friendly and charming. Definitely to be recommended.

A group of us went here on Saturday night, having booked a table. We were shown straight to our table (none of that hanging around business). The staff were very polite and efficient. Service was good.
The menu contains many interesting dishes, as well as the usual. I had the mutton and ginger curry, which was superb. The sizzling chicken starter is out of this world! It was good value, costing £15 including two beers. I would go back like a shot.
