Cork & Bottle Wine Bar

Always when i London, live in Sweden, I visit Cork & Bottle. Done so since the 80´s. It is truly a great place. Ecxellent wines at affordable price. The food is very good. The atmosphere is great. Can not be better. When you see the C&B from the outside (easy to miss)you can´t imigine what´s inside. Must be the best hidden gem in London

Once again when in london the pull of the cork & bottle is irresistible....this place simply gets better and better....good wine at sensible prices and the food well to say value for money is an understatement....the place buzzes.

just had a call from a pal of mine who went just after us and he's been on the phone to say what an incredible place.

We were a huge group of friends who went for a meal on a Friday night - absolutely great! The wine was as always delicious and the service impeccable. We were also all happy with the food, and had a lovely time. Fantastic place!

I am fortunate enough to work nearby, and it is the only place I take clients to. The food is fresh and "home cooked", the wine list outstanding. Occasionally, however, the service can be a bit slow. ALl the more wine to enjoy then

Mostly been coming here over the years for the wine. However yesterday I had the marinated Springbok in Shiraz sauce with pink peppercorn, sweet potatoe mash and spinach ricotta. It was absolutely fantastic! Best meal in months.

A proper proper wine list. One of the few so called 'wine bars' that offers a real wine list. Top marks for this alone.

Come on London. Sort your wine out!

***London Eating*** please include a scorecard for wine as well as food, since you do cover wine bars, and good wine is still so hard to come by in London. We can change this!

I can't believe a place like this exists right in the middle of the tacky tourist haven, Leicester Square! I was a bit dubious when I found it nestled amongst the adult shops and kebab bars, but it truly is a gem of a place. Superb wine list, great food (the steak was delicious), lively atmosphere - how come I didn't find it sooner? Will definitely be back!

We have been enjoying the Cork & Bottle for many years. It is our favourite bar and the family always comes here for any special event, birthdays, hatchings, matchings and even despatchings as well as normal visits. The wine list is to die for and the bar staff always have a wine to recommend which is always good. We also enjoy the food and the cheese and pate boards are great if you just want a snack.
