Il Raduno @ the White Hart Hotel

Me and my family went here for my grandparents anniversary last weekend and as my parents had been to the White Hart before, my expectations were high. Whilst the service was very good, I found that my main course (salmon with mussels and potato rosti) wasn't up to the standard of everyone else's. The potato rosti was severely burnt round the edges and almost raw in the middle. The mussels were also overcooked and quite rubbery. However, the rest of my family seemed fairly satisfied with their meals.

Dessert was also a problem - one person had the crepe Suzette and this was flambeed at the table - however when we said to the waiter that we had been told that we had to wait at least 15 minutes for our other desserts, so could he wait before cooking this one, he replied that it had already been 10 minutes (which it hadn't) and that our other desserts would be out shortly. However, by the time the other desserts arrived, the person who ordered crepe Suzette had already finished. My sister and I had the chocolate fondant, which was also overcooked and this time we sent them back. When we eventually got a new dessert, it was quite good and we were told that we would get them free of charge.

The experience for the whole party overall was a good one, and I suppose I was just unlucky with my food (I doubt this is a regular occurrence). However, the prices are quite high and there is absolutely no atmosphere until about 8.30/9pm when the restaurant fills up.

Oh yes, the White Hart is a really good experience,fresh food, mainly local, great menus well cooked, very friendly venue. The main actors have great scipts and they certainly know their lines, you come away well fed and watered(wined) and entertained, and feeling the evening was well worth the going. Great food, not cheap, but good value, highly recommended
