My partner and i visited patara for my birthday in march 08 and every single part of the experience was fantastic. The menu was vast and the food was amazing, for her main course my partner had a whole seabass which was deep fried in a light and crispy batter and i had best end of lamb in a thai red curry sauce both were cooked to perfection. The wine list while not massive had a good selection and was reasonably priced. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone!

Nice clean place, good service. The food is good-Thai style, but still not the real Thai, Thai food.

Went there last Saturday night for a dinner with some friends, our xmas meet up without the kids.
8.30, Upon arrival the staff were warm and friendly.. we were escorted to our table and all staff on the way said hello.. very nice.
Sat down.. waited and then ordered drinks.. no grapefruit juice.. not a real problem...then waited quite a while before they came up... they then took the meal order not really interfering with our choices, probably due to the fact we ordered most things from the chief's recomendations, 1 item was off the menu...
So Far pretty ok experience... didn't wait to long for the food.
Was impressed by the tastes.. think we ordered a good selection.. pretty small portions though.
Around 11.00 called waitress to order more drinks and she seemed a little shocked... had to go away and check !, last orders at the bar.
Then she came over and asked as we had finished our meal that the kitchen was closing and we had to choose straight away if we wanted a desert.. as we had only just finish our main meal.. decided against further food at this point.
Had a couple of bottles of wine and four cocktails... two courses for for was £60 / head !
Thought this was a little excessive.
Overall pretty good night out... felt a little rushed at then end of a saturday night. left restaurant at around 12.

I went to Patara's on a Saturday night and found the experience very enjoyable. The staff were extremely friendly and polite. I was also impressed by the way that they left enough time between each course before bringing the next one so that you didn't feel hurried in anyway. The ambience was soft and I think that place is well suited to romantic meals as well as small groups.
The food was also very tasty. The menu did not have many vegetarian options but when I asked the waitress what would be best she picked vegetarian spring rolls with a green curry for main course which were both delicious. My only complaint was that they brought me the wrong main course but were extremely apologetic and quickly rectified the mistake. In all very good value for money with three courses, two cocktails and a bottle of wine coming to £46 pounds a head.
Will definitely recommend this to friends!

We went to Patara for dinner this week. The food was excellent and the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere with very stylish décor. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great Thai food in an elegant location.

The food was tasting well enough but my husband found a hair in his food. We quietly told the watress. She took away the plate and brought him a fresh dinner. They gave us complementary cups of tea wich was nice. When it came time to pay the bill they charged us twice for one bottle of wine and twice for our mineral water. We pointed this out and they made the corrections on the bill but it still left a bad taste in our mouths.

Had lunch here and the food is well presented and quality is pretty good. The seabass in tamarind sauce was very tasty. Overall good but pretty expensive and nothing mindblowing.
