Went there for dinner on a Friday evening, only 3 other tables were used. No music, no ambience. Service was poor, food was well below average, prices and final bill especially drinks were expensive. Extremely dissapointed. This restaurant is certainly not French as it states. It catches the tourists but the locals which should support it dont and wont.

Went there on friday 13/06/08.thought it should be a nice place with good food and warm atmosphere, i was wrong. the food was fine, drinks overpriced, no music, so there were 3 tables busy in the restaurant and you can listen to every noise and every move. service was so so.fast , but not so positive. i was wondering, why in a "good french restaurant", there are no french waiters....when we received total bill, there were some extra items, which we havent had. we spend £130 for 2. but i had only the main course, no desert, no starter, no coffee. i was very diisapointed after the dinner!

I took my girlfriend here for Valentine's night and had a superb time.
Service = attentive, knowledgeable but not intrusive
Ambience = relaxed, not stuffy, but still smart enough to impress
Food = not over complicated, full of flavour, the chef obviously knows about ingredients
Wine = varied range, something for everyone
Price = very reasonable considering the night, £90 for two incl wine, starters, mains and coffee
Overall = a reliable, affordable, relaxed restaurant, in an area where this is often hard to find.

I had lunch here recently and it was as reliable as always.
For the first time I had a corner seat and got to enjoy a view of the room - previoulsy I've only eaten there at a table for two and sat in the non-banquette, wall-facing seat.
Don't come here expecting fireworks from the kitchen. Straightforward but high quality brasserie cooking is their thing. I had a mushroom tart as a starter and lamb as main course. Both were very nice. My only complaints are that one of us asked for rare lamb and another for medium but we received two medium. A bit more care with the cooking time is needed. Also, we would have liked mint tea made with real mint (good for them too as mark-ups on this are always healthy).
For London the prices are reasonable and they also offer a set-price lunch menu. Wine prices are also reasonable for London. Two of us opted for sparkling water and the other two for tap water. A nice touch in these eco-conscious times is that they have pre-prepared jugs of iced water - a change from the usual restaurant mineral water-pushing, profit-margin scam.
Service was fine - there when you need it but no pointless interefernce.
Pop in next time you're visiting the V&A or Natural History Museum. You shouldn't be disappointed.

Had a very pleasant evening there the other day. I must agree with the previous posts – the service is very good and attentive. We had a nice cosy table, though only booked a couple of hours in advance. The atmosphere is great.
My soup and salmon as a main course were both very nice. My 2 friends had venison (amazing) and beef steak (also good). We found it a bit strange the waiter did not ask how we wanted them cooked, but decided to leave up to the chef. While the venison came out just perfect, the beef was a bit overcooked, though I guess it depends on individual preferences. Otherwise, nothing left on the plates, even the sides completely gone!
Even though I had no room for dessert, I still glared very jealously at my companions’.

Having been here many times over the last 5 years i was disappointed to see that standards seem to have slipped slightly. As always, the food was outstanding. However, we were the last table to leave on Sat night (not late at 1115pm) and we felt rushed by the waiting staff who glared at us constantly whilst looking at their watches. An unpleasant welcome from a once fave restaurant.

We ate here while visiting from New York earlier this year and were utterly delighted in the food selections, the service, and overall ambience of the restaurant. We lingered over delectable food, lovely music and personable, yet unintrusive service which truly added to the joy of good friends and a wonderful evening. We will be back in several weeks will be booking a return to this lovely restaurant

Most fantastic meal....my girlfriend and I had a wonderful evening. The food was great. My starter of marinated salmon was delicious and was followed up by the risotto, which was the on a par with Harrys Bar. Thank you very much for a special night.

This restaurant was absolutely sensational. I suggested it for a family party without having been there and trusting entirely on positive reviews and on peering through the window during a recent trip to the area! The atmosphere was perfect brasserie - lively chatter but not too loud - and from start to finish the service was impeccable. As for the food - well I have to say it was one of the best recent meals I have had. Lovely marinated salmon to start, roast monkfish and a platter of cheeses to round it off. The rest of the party of 7 also absolutely loved it and there wasn't a dud dish to be seen. Highly recommended.
