Chez Patrick

I love this restaurant. It is a little hidden and out of the way, but it has a very authentic French atmosphere, and Patrick actually works there himself. He remembered us when we went, even though we had not been there for a couple of months, and he is very friendly.

There is a range of French food, which satisfies all palates, and it is very reasonably priced :)

Definitely a place for birthday and anniversary celebrations!!

I was taken for dinner with three other people last Friday night. The atmosphere is very authentic and the restaurant itself is charmingly understated. The food was good but not excellent - the chateaubriand (at £36 to share between two people) was overcooked (they did, in all fairness, offer to cook another one which would not always be the case elsewhere). The service was a little basic but they tried very hard.

Overall, I think that they have some way to go to establish themselves as a reputable brasserie. Patrick is charming though and it is surely only a matter of time before the polished restaurant is achieved. A noble effort and one worth supporting.
