Matsuba Japanese Restaurant

We didnt pre book on a friday night and still we got seated within 5 mins and the staff were incredibly helpful. The food was very nicely prepared and presented..also very good quality food compared to other Japanese restaurants I've visited.

Being vegetarian, there was a big selection that fitted my criteria, Also there were many complimentary dishes, which I didnt complain about!

The food arrived quite quickly, considering we were in quite a bit of a rush that evening and didn't plan on spending most of the evening sitting there.

The staff were very polite and I'd definatly visit again.

What disgraceful service! They overbook tables which has meant a table booked for 9.15pm has not been available until almost 10pm, and that after much complaining. Despite this, we returned a few weeks later. Very long gaps between dishes, some of which had to be chased. And rudeness beyond belief. Diners at two other tables had issues as well. The high staff turnover says something too!

Not going back in a hurry. There is no shortage of good restaurants keen on offering genuine hospitality.

This is definitely a 5-star Japanese restaurant, not only regarding the delicacies like their fatty tuna sashimi, but also definitely for their special rolls. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for the quality, preparation and presentation of their food and especially for the friendly, authentic Japanese service and ambience.
