La Siesta

I was on the number 8 bus and saw three unknowing women walk into La Siesta, and was compelled to write a rview on my last experience there. Although judging by the outcry below, it's hardly necessary, although therapeutic.
We stopped in hoping for a nice romatic meal...
It's awful.
The service wasn't great - borderline rude, really .The food so unexceptional and disappointing.
Don't be fooled by the warm red lights enticing you in. Hot food is served luke warm and our wine glasses we're hot out of the dish washer. Everything tastes like it came out of a can. Nothing tastes fresh.
I lived in Spain for a year, and these are not Spanish tapas. They are smaller portions of dull dishes of the sort you would throw together if you didn't have time to cook.
A real amateur feel about the place!
I won't be back.

This restaurant is appalling - our food was cold, overpriced and devoid of any taste or flavour. The staff were horribly rude and tried to charge us for food we didn't have! Avoid.

One word for the La Siesta and that's memorable. In a truly awful way.
Having just returned from a lunch there with colleagues, I feel its only right that I share my experience with the rest of London in the hope that you will not make the same mistake as us and go there to eat. The service in the past, having been there once before, is at best indifferent but this is normally redeemed by the quality of the food - not today. Having everyone in our party choose from the set 2 course menu, we finally got our starter after 30 minutes of waiting, followed by 20 minutes to clear the plates and then another 10 minutes before the main courses arrived. My fish dish was served on a cold plate, the residing piece of lemon sole lying on the plate, lonely and somewhat forlorn surrounded by slices of lemon and what I will term 'vegetables' in the broadest sense of the word. Other dishes were presented to our party in similar 'inverse heated' states, with the meatballs pink and the potatoes cold. There's fresh meat and there's fresh meat - this was still alive.
Upon leaving to pay for the meal, our party was charged for bread that had not been ordered and we thought was complimentary (they bought us the bread and then continued to bring more and more, without asking if we wanted it) with the waitress confrontational and rude - and that's being nice to her.

Just went to La Siesta with colleagues for lunch, and it was utterly appalling. The ‘music’ initially consisted of shrill, inuous wails played at haunting volumes, possibly a recording of the last group of La Siesta customers who starved to death waiting for their main course. It took an epic 3 hours for a two-course lunch, and each of my dull and rapidly-cooling dishes were presented on stone- tortcold plates and accompanied by a limp, cheerless affair that, the absence of a better word, I called salad. They deviously tried to levy exorbitant amounts of money for unsolicited bread and, upon our questioning of said charge, became rude to outrageous proportions and even refused to take the service charge we, at that point, were still willing to pay. Will never return. It’s possible that we just caught them at a bad point during the day; perhaps lunchtime is inconvenient for them.

I have been many times to this restauant in the last two months for lunch and dinner, The decor fantastic you feel like you are in anywhere in Spain but at home, The cocktails are original, refreshing & well balance, best sangria I ever had. Staff is very wellcoming and their service is impecable, they really know how to be there when you need them without annoying. Tapas were deliciuos, specially calamares & chorizo. But the start is Paella, fresh & tasty (we had it 3 times already & we will have again!) I recomended to everyone that apreciates good food & nice service. We loved it & we'll be back!!!

I came here for dinner two days ago with 2 of my friends. Having been to many Spanish restaurants in Europe and in the States, I have to say this is one of the most mediocre Spanish meal I ever had. The Chorizo was bland, the meatball tasted like something you get from microwavable meal. The chicken wings and fried potatoes were alright, but they tasted more like homemade food than restaurant food. The most disappointing dish is their Paella: it was excessively watery and lacked the aroma one would expect from Paella.
The service was alright and the seats comfortable. But the restaurant failed utterly on the one thing that matters that most: food. I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I have been here a number of times now since it recently opened and the food has always been exceptional. I would recommend going before the word spreads and it becomes hard to get a table! My guests have always been impressed by this gem and some of them are in the restaurant business. I booked a small party here last month and we were really well looked after. They also have a great bar downstairs and there was a proper mixologist serving great cocktails. Definitely worth trying!
