Superb. Can't understand the negative reviews, unless something happened over-night.
Visited last night (Sunday evening). Atmosphere, well, relaxed.
Both of us fully enjoyed our starters, mains and quite awesome chocolate pot!
Service was pleasant and the food was served in quick time.
In short, one of the best meals I've had in London in quite some time, and yep I eat out quite a lot and choose wisely!

Avoid fish. It's frozen and taste chewy. It's shameful given the price. Also duck , chosen as replacement , was overcooked and non-edible. We were offered wine to compensate lack of edibles. Not enoug, as all we wanted was to have decent dinner at the end of a tiring week.
Shameful, overpriced. Avoid if you can.

Went to Draper's Arm tonight and it was FAIR at best. The waiter pointed to where the table was (as oppose to walk us over. No service for first 15 minutes, then the waiter takes our drink and meal order at the same time, food was bland, we poured our own wine, no one asked if we enjoyed our meal. Waited 30 min for bill. Ambiance terrible, cold. If you must eat here, eat downstairs where there is at least some personality. Still, I would not recomment this place to anyone.

After my wedding at Islington Town Hall I had my wedding reception lunch in the restaurant at Draper's Arms and it was perfect! There were over 30 guests and I felt the staff pulled all the stops to make the occasion special. The food and service was excellent, thanks guys.

Really delicious, non-greasy, super-substantial cooked breakfast. Yum!

Lovely food, three out of four courses between two of us were beautiful, one (chicken liver) was a bit too heavy for a starter.
Very friendly and attentive service.
Quite expensive, verging on overpriced, but the food just about manages to pull it back!

Having heard much in recent years about the Drapers Arms, my girlfriend and I decided to try it out last Friday night as a little treat to ease us into the New Year. I had been keen to try the place for ages as I had heard many good things about it, but am skeptical about the Gastro experience in general. I have got to say, we were extremely pleased and pleasantly surprised as it exceeded our best expectations. Definitely, as far as great food and friendly service are concerned, it went straight into our top three favourite bars in London and definitely the best Gastro Pub we have visited in a very long time. To start, we shared 1/2 dozen oysters and a haddock chowder. The chowder was delicious and thankfully a gastro pub finally sells fresh oysters with all the proper taste and juices that an oyster should have. For the main courses, my girlfriend had a very tasty bouillabaisse whilst I tucked into the boeuf bourguignon. Both were excellent. All was washed down with a very acceptable and reasonably priced bottle of house red. After rounding it all off with platter of farmhouse cheeses we departed very happily and will definitely be returning. Some say its a bit overpriced, but the quality of the food and service definitely left us believing it was very good value compared with the average, low budget fare served up in most other establishments. Highly recommended and I can see us becoming regularls at weekends or Sunday lunches to while away the damp, greyness of winter in smart, relaxed comfort with staff that know what they are doing, are mannerly, friendly and attentive, yet not in your face.

Went to the Drapers Arms a couple of weeks ago and after arriving fairly late we were told that we could still have a table. After having a nice meal which as some of the others point out was not very cheap, we paid our bill and had finished our drinks when someone who we'd not seen previously but since found out was the owner had asked us to leave. We were getting ready to leave when he said "no I mean leave now", after having visited the ladies I enquired to the waitress as to why he had specifically picked on us she said "I don't know he's the owner ask him" to which I did. I was then told the reason why he had asked me to leave is that I had given him a funny look. After trying to discuss why he hadn't chased others to leave he pointed out that some of them were his staff. After having spent £60 it completely ruined the evening and the owners attitude was awful. Neither my friend or I were drunk or behaving badly but were treated awfully and no apology was offered. I know Anna (who give this place a fantastic review) and my friend who was with me was also planning on having her CP ceremony here but the owner seemed to be drunk and after having spoke with him I felt there was no other place to raise my concerns.

A bit pretentious - my lamb was miniscule in every way apart from the price. The Crown round the corner is a better bet on current form, I feel.
