Firstly, this is a review of Jerk City, not Mr Jerk which is two doors down the street. Craving a goat roti, I found this place on the web. My craving was sated as the goat was tender and the roti freshly prepared. Really good value for money esp given the location. As others have commented, the portions are generous and well prepared. Only quibble would be with the jerk chicken which gets most of its flavour from dollops of sauce rather than lengthy marinating. Would love to hear from others where I can get London's best jerk chicken.

We went here again last Friday evening on our way home from work, as always it was lovely , excellent portions, lovely tasty food and a great price, considering its in the heart of the west end.

The place has undergone some decoration and I found it very cosy and relaxing.

The only problem is they dont provide transport home because after a meal here your belly is so full you can hardly walk !!

10/10 for everything .

Having been to nearly all of the top caribbean resturants in London, this is simply the best

I had lunch a takeaway lunch from here today and the food was lovely, it was good big decent size portions, there was enough for me to eat for dinner as well if I wanted to, but it was soo good that I ate the whole lot.

I had jerk chicken and rice and peas, the chicken was seasoned well and the rice was delicious, I have to say, I’ve been to a few Caribbean restaurants and this was just as good if not better. It was a nice chilled atmosphere, staff were polite friendly and attentive and everyone in there seem relaxed and happy! I def recommend to try it out.

Excellent, really, really fantastic. I've been her with my mother and partner on several occasions and we all loved it.

Like many of the reviewers here we have eaten in most the west indian restuarants in and around London, and this has to be amongst the best.

Excellent on price, excellent on portion sizes and good helpful service (which can sometimes be poor in Caribean resturants). I recommend, and the Guiness Punch is to die for, and a very good size too!

10 out of 10!

We have eaten here so many times and we have never been disapointed. Firstly what you have to remember that Jerk City is a small cosy cafe it is not a resturant that you would possibly go to on a Saturday night to impress your girl or get dressed up for. We first came accross this little gem on a bill board advert in Oxford Street, so that goes to show you , Jerk City is cheep and cheerful and the food is always fresh , hot and plentyful.

I have eaten in most of the top caribbean resturants in London, Cottons, Mango Room , etc but this is almost as good for a fraction of the price.

We were there Friday after work and we both had stew chicken ricen peas, coleslaw and a pattie and 2 soft drinks , total cost abt £12.00.

If you look at the reviews on this site going way back at least 95% of the write ups are really positive.

I would give this resturant 9/10 for food and 9/10 for service.

I came across mr jerks while strolling along and i must the the food is what i expected and more. All dishes are what you would get in any inner city caribean take away and at the same competitive prices. Thumbs up to you guys for "keeping the food real" and not glamming up the dishes just because its in central london.

Was looking forward to eating here, as I have read quite a few reviews with positive write ups.But myself & my companions were disappointed. We ordered a chicken roti, mutton roti & jerk chicken. The meats were cooked very well but they were not seasoned & this to me makes Caribbean cuisine so special, but sadly lacking here. The jerk chicken was smothered in barbeque sauce. I was going to ask about it, but my friends said to leave it as we won't choose to eat there again.Sadly, I agreed. The top of my friend's drink was not properly secured & she spilt some of her guiness punch on her brand new white Levi t-shirt, o, dear!

We went to a bar afterward to chill out, then my friend who had paid at Jerk City for the meals, noticed in their change that they were given a 'Euro' instead of a pound coin. They only had notes until they broke them at the restaurant, this could be a genuine mistake?

We weren't impressed, Jerk City in our view is over-rated, but there is a market for good tasty, well-season Caribbean cuisine without a doubt, where the service isn't sloppy or rushed; also attention for dodgy coins of lesser currency should be guarded against.

I visited Mr. Jerk recently and at first the atmosphere was very chilled, enjoyed my dinner and was chatting with friends. But the staff were very rude and unrational, once the clock struck 10, they got moody and wanted to throw my and me friends out. It was amazing that a restaurant band in the centre of west end had such poor customer service, and the way they spoke to us was unbelieveable. You don't want to visit such a place, trust me it would spoil the rest of your day.
