My friend and I attended the restaurant after our matinee theatre trip on a busy Saturday evening. After a quick cocktail at the bar we were seated. The staff were extremely friendly and upbeat and considering that the restaurant seemed full to capacity, they were very well composed. Our order was taken promptly and our starter and main courses arrived in good time.
The food was well prepared, with good-sized portions and well presented. We were impressed with the sea bass and fillet of steak, and their accompaniments provided the right finishing touches for the meals. Dessert was fabulous and another cocktail finished off the evening in good spirits.

I have been here twice now; once for my birthday, and then for my grandmother's birthday. Both times were excellent.
The food is absolutely delicious, the lychee bellini was a favourite amongst all my guests, and the atmosphere in general was lovely.
Will definitely go back.

A group of us decided to take up the special offer for dinner last monday. The majority of us arrived on time for dinner, but 2 of the group were running late. The restaurant staff were kind enough to allow us the table to sit at till the final 2 friends arrived (about 45 mins late). The atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice, we sat near the front of the restaurant where the bar was so it was not as noisy as the back. The place was well lit and the use of candles created a good mood.
We ordered our meals, I had the brocolli soup of the day - which was nice but a bit too watery for my liking and no bread was provided. My wife had the foie gras parfait which was delicious. For mains, a few of us ordered the rib eye steak and the medium and well done options looked exactly the same. The fries that came with it were too salty and reminded me of the fries you get from Mc Ds. Apart from those niggles, the steak was tasty! A few others ordered the salmon, which looked a bit sad when it arrived as it was such a small piece on a large plate full of veg. I was told it was not that bad in taste. For deserts, I had the apple crumble which was very sweet, I believe they added extra sugar to compensate for the sourish nature of the apples. My wife had the ice-cream and the waitress was kind enough to allow us 3 scoops of icecream than 2.
On the whole, the night was fun for all of us, the food was not the best I've had but for the price we were paying for the 3 courses it was worth it!
A place I'll probably go back to in the near future if the offer is still on. On the other hand, one of my friends enjoyed it so much that they want to visit again!

Went to the Palm Court last night for a quick pre-theatre dinner and left very impressed. They had a pre-teatre menu which was £12.95 for 3 courses so we were well and truely stuffed without it costing the earth. We both had steak which was lovely and I'd highly reccommend the creme caramel! The staff were very helpful and the manager (I think his name was Jim?) was very chatty and made us feel very at home in the place. I would definately return.

Visited this restaurant last week with my son as part of a Lastminute pre theatre offer. I did not expect a great deal and it was an accurate guess. It was very busy and we were kept waiting for some time before we could order. The drinks took quite a while to appear as did the meal, subsequently others seated after us, on nearby tables were eating and had left before us. My soup was unremarkable and the chicken main dish looked and tasted fairly poor, with strange tasting rice. The other duck salad starter was ok but was of a very small portion. Just knowing that the bill would be incorrect, once again I was not disappointed. The glass of wine was wrongly priced, and the waiter apologised and took the bill away to correct. Bill came back, this time there was a supplement on it for something we hadn't ordered. At this point my patience had worn a little thin, so I took off the 12.5% service charge as well as the incorrect £1.50 off the bill, left payment and went. Needless to say I would not return.

We happened upon this restuarant while wondering round Covent Garden, and were inticed in by the ivy outside. It was our first time at Palm Court Basserie, and we will be sure to return. The food was beautiful, especially the surf and turf, though there wasn't quite enough room on the table! The meat came as ordered - rare and medium. Waiters were very attentive and helpful. The only remotely negative thing I can say is that there was no air conditioning, so it can get quite warm. A wonderful experience.

We booked through last minute.com for a pre-fix theatre menu.the choice was limited but that wasn't so much of a great deal. The soup of the day was so tasteless the if I was not told what I was eating I would have never guessed. The main course was not bad actually but again what can you do wrong with a few bits of veg. and a portion of salmon.the service was below average-the waiter looked so tired and could not be bothered to make any effort to speak.
Overall very disappointed and I consider the restaurant as a place I would never go back or recommend to a friend.

Great atmosphere although sadly the food was hit and miss. The gratin dauphinois was fantastic. The beef in the boeuf bourguignon was beautifully tender but the 5 lumps of pure fat were not so tasty. To be fair, I didn't complain as I didn't want to spoil a great date. Oh, and the NY waiter was just too keen!
