I live about 10 mins walk away and have systematically eaten at all the Turkish restaurants in this area to work out the best one - this is it!

Cheese and Biscuits - 8/10
Wednesday, August 03, 2011 - You know there is some real talent in a kitchen when even something as straightforward as house hummus draws gasps of approval. It was, in fact, the finest example of this humble dish I've had in a very long time - light and smooth, seasoned perfectly and astonishingly fresh. A generous round of lahmacun (sort of a Turkish pizza for want of a better description) was straight out of the oven and lovely and crisp, and cost a pathetic 2 quid; amazing value. And even a plate of yoghurt and cucumber did its job commendably well, cooling the soft house bread and tasting bright and summery...Lamb behti kebabs came served on house bread soaked up the meat juices and soft brown rice. The kebabs themselves were top-drawer, moist and rich and seasoned perfectly, and there was a huge amount of meat here for 9.50.
London Eater
Monday, November 09, 2009 - I was surprised when they brought out all the dishes to accompany the kebabs. Sides included two types of onions; One in pomegranate sauce, the other in chilli. A large plate of raw salad and a large bowl of turkish flat bread with rice and a thin pita complimenting two huge sticks of kebab. I was expecting a quick lunch, but this was a right feast!...Woah - the kebabs are really delish. It's toasty, smoky, spicy and chocolatey. A buttery texture and ginormous portions which left us bursting at the seams.
The World In 202 Meals
Monday, February 02, 2009 - Turkish grills, or ocakbasi, dominate the upper stretches of Kingsland road, with the Mangal chain particularly renowned. These represent the more authentic origins of England’s fast-food kebab shops, with their charcoal grills and cabinets full of freshly-skewered meat. We wanted to try some Turkish mezze as well though, so after some deliberation headed to 19 Numara Bos Cirrik 1, one of the best-reputed local restaurants with a grill and an extensive restaurant menu too.
