Good food (although nothing special), beautiful decor, but why is the service so horrible. It took more than 30 minutes and 2 requests to get a bottle of water - 20 minutes to get a bottle of wine - in total 35 minutes from being seated to be able to order, but the worst thing is that the staff was very cranky. In this place, you would expect service with a smile. This is really the reason why we are not returning - food can be great, but if the staff is not attentive, it spoils a good evening out.

We took advantage of the 3 courses & speciality bellini offer for £22 per person. We arrived at 6:30pm & with only 1 table seated, there was an eerie quiet - no music. However, given this is the old library, it is perhaps apt that the only noise is the moving of chairs and whispers? As the restaurant filled, the silence was broken. The service was attentive. The food was v good - the meat and fish melting under the knife. The décor is superb & following delicious desserts, we adjourned to the library bar. Expensive for the food you get but the setting is where the money goes.

In my view the best top end Indian restaurant in London by some margin. Not a place for traditional fare but a real treat if you're looking for high quality cooking, professional service and a superb selection of wines.

I went to the cinnamon club on Valentines day and had a wonderful time. It was good value for money as the food was delicious and the service average. They have an inventive selection of drinks which added to my experience considerably. I enjoyed it so much i returned with my entire family to celebrate a special occasion just a month or so later where my exerience on valentines day was topped by the excellent service we recieved and the flexibility offered during group dining. I cant wait to go again but need to wait for another good excuse as this restaurant is a little out of my regular restaurant price bracket.

Eating at the Cinnamon Club isn't your typical London curry experience. First off, the ambience is very impressive, as it's set within a listed building, formerly a library, with a grand open plan that includes soaring ceilings. The impressiveness of the main room is balanced by the intimacy of the downstairs bar (try the Cinnamon Bellini...amazing) and the "reading room" bar.
The food is Indian, but with a French influence. The sauces are light, with sophisticated tastes that are still very approachable. Half the fun of the Cinnamon Club is the fact that their selection isn't the normal chicken tikka masala offering. The dishes are unique without being experimental. It's one of those places where you see about a half dozen items that all look incredibly appealing. I usually just rely on the staff to make the recommendations, as they're incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. In short, it's the best Indian food I've had in London.
Caveat: If all you want is a sauce-laden chicken tikka masala, then this probably isn't the place for you. But for a great dinner that's a bit of an experience without being pretentious, this is a must.

I had a wonderful lunch last week at The Cinnamon Club. The food was imaginative and beautifully cooked and our waiter was charming and knowledgeable. The setting is elegant and it is certainly a unique and enjoyable dining experience.

My fiance and I went to the Cinnamon Club looking to celebrate in style - and the restaurant didn't let us down.
I really loved the setting of the restaurant: the high ceiling, the wood, the books and the generous spacing of the tables makes it comfortable even when full (and fill up it did, and that on a Monday night).
The food is amazing: Indian but presented in a sophisticated "French" style, which enhances the eating experience, spiced but not all-flavours-drowned-in-chillies-hot. The side dishes are certainly worth a try: the Tandoor Smoked Aubergine and the Black Lentils were absolutely amazing. I usually leave a little space for dessert, but couldn't stand the thought of not at least trying to finish them... so I had to pass on the dessert this time round - but seeing the beautiful desserts as they were served was very tempting.
The service was great - and the staff helpful and patient with our questions. And the last bit... given the quality of the dining experience, I felt that the price was justified.

Knowing the price level I was expecting a fancy design but the restaurant has the charm of an airport hangar or railway station - and in fact, the design reminded me the dining room of a conservative but not really posh boarding school (and had the same noise level as well...). We arrived earlier and wanted to go for a drink into the bar - but the lady at the entrance declined with "we have a table for you anyway".
The food was very average (and definitely not worth the money). I don't want to compare or mention other restaurants here - but for the same money I can get in London better atmosphere and far better indian food....
It was full with men on business dinner, obviously - but I definitely wouldn't go back there for a private dinner.

I recently visited The Cinnamon Club with a group of friends, one of whom actually recommended we try it out.
My initial impressions were good and we enjoyed a drink in the bar as we waited for our group to arrive.
I liked the main dining room which had a nice feel to it and still retained a distinct library feel and was impressed by the selection of dishes available on the menu. I chose to order from the Festival Menu for the month which featured seafood dishes from Goa and Maharastra and was very happy with my choice when it arrived.
I loved my starter of Konkani prawns which were beautifully spiced and I had a very good main course of Kingfish curry. Finished off with a lovely Indian rice pudding - much more interesting than the usual desserts offered in Indian establishments.
Overall a very enjoyable evening with excellent food, good service and a rather lovely setting.
