Took up the £15 offer, excellent value, service was great, expected it to be busier, but i guess the weather means everyone is outside!

had dinner in cru tonight, was great , really good. I don't think its rated enough as a place. The wine choice was a bit old school for some reason, but i loved the food and service and it had a good vibe, will be back for sure!

Gave cru a go last week and although the service was good, i thought the meat was substandard, the burger was nicely presented but the meat was not great. also my boyfriends steak was not worth the money, it just tasted like a Tesco steak a little bland with not a lot of flavour. We usually go to Eyre brothers which is far better value with tastier food.

Must try harder

Went to CRU for a party on Saturday and had a fabulous time. We loved the food and the manager was really fun. So not sure if things have changed there but quite a different experience to the previous post. I do agree the music coudl be better, but the food was really tasting and have to say the meats were a revelation, took myself off to ginger pig jsut last sunday, had not heard of them before. So yes living out side london, its fun to come to somewhere like cru, and Shoreditch seems to still be a bombastic place at weekends!

We were shown to our table with little enthusiasm from the head waiter. After trying to get someones attention we eventualy got a wine list . We waited along time for any food to arrive, no bread was given in the mean time.

I asked the music to be changed as it was not conducive to an eating environment more suited to a club, my request was ignored , I asked someone else to at least turn it down and he replied 'Its New Years Eve' and sneered at me.

The food arrive, the steak was poor quality and chewy. The vegetarian platter cost £15 and consisted of 3 tinned stuffed vine leaves, roasted pepper, 2 pieces of halumi, humus and 4 pieces of cold pitta. Three of us had the recommended fish stew consisting of 4 pieces of cubed fish, 4 prawns and a few muscles swimming in a luke warm vinger tasting liquid where the chef hadn't cooked the wine off. We couldn't bare to stay in there a moment longer, we paid and left , no apology was given... not one possitive thing to say about the place.

Very poor -cannot do basics right let alone anything mildly exotic. 3 of us had meat dishes and besides average quality meat alll were done with complete disregard to what we ordered. Medium was still frozen, rare was medium, medium-rare was super well-done. Bernaise sauce tasted like flour.

I could have bought better starters at Sainsbury's frozen food section.. As for service was there on Tuesday night.. no-one in restuarant (no wonder with this quality) but had to get up to get any service.. completely ignored. A horror. .. Shoreditch lovely but give this restuarant a very wide berth unless it is completely reformed

My husband & I celebrated our birthday and wedding anniversary at Cru last weekend. On the whole, it is a restaurant I would definitely recommend for a group get-together. The staff were friendly and very efficient throughout the entire evening. Starters were quick to arrive and tasty, followed by a satisfying main-meal. Everyone in our group was pleased and the night was rounded off with a delicious chocolate raspberry torte & espresso's.

Great service, good food & smiling staff, a lovely evening was had by all.

Went to CRU last thursday for a friends Birthday. We had a great time. They laid on a banquet style meal for us, roast suckling pig for mains, and platters to start.

The wine was really good value for money, we had an organic Roc des Anges, velveting delicious wine from the Languedoc.

My only critism would be the desserts, I thought the brownies were far too dry.

I definately will be back, its has an fun buzzy atmospher, with lots of Hoxtonx supposedly cool people

Incredibly disappointing: the steak tasted very funny - seasonal vegetables were steamed green beans? please - the wine tasted very cheap although it was not so on the bill, the service was basically inexistent, or whenever they had the decence to come to the table, they were rude and dismissive. Oh! a part from a guy who started laughing while was taking orders! We felt like in a candid camera, really. No way I am recommending this restaurant to anyone!

My friends and i went to CRU for brunch on Sunday, it was excellent, friendly staff, some fantastic wines and an excellent sunday roast, the pefect antidote after Columbia Road Flower market.

My only issue was allowing smoking in the bar during brunch as there kids in our group, they have non smoking areas, but the bar's the nicest place to sit!
