We all wish we had seen the comment quoting Wolfgang Pauli and wholeheartedly agree. The food is so bad its not even wrong. Truly the most appalling attempt at calamari we have ever seen.

The physicist Wolfgang Pauli was presented a paper by a student disagreeing with a theory of his. Pauli explained to the student that the views expressed were so bad they were "not even wrong". Describing something as "wrong" implies some value. By fundamentally changing the thing, it could be rendered correct or at least creditable or useful.
The food in the Builders Arms is so appalling it's not even wrong.
A slice of fried Mighty White bread does not belong in a Caesar salad. Red onions do not belong on pears. Warm Camembert has to be warm. And Camembert.
"It's our take on it" Perhaps. But it's not even wrong.
