Great place - they serve bitter in dimpled jugs. Yes, it is Sloanie but if that bothers you, go somewhere else.

Ive had some really good meals here and some pretty bad ones. Basically the food is usually very good, but ive had an undercooked fish once (meat was still stuck to the bones!) and the service tends to be slow. If you don't mind the extreme Sloanieness of the customers then definately a place worth trying out.

this used to be a nice little pub, but is now heaving almost every night.

The food is good, although over priced, and the service woudl be good if it wasn't always so busy and the staff so stretched.

Tables are a rarity - if you do find one, grab it, al;though you will probably be told to move as it might be in the way of serving staff.

Great venue/atmosphere. Food's gone downhill over the past 18 months - the menu seems shorter, rarely varied, and the cooking's nothing special, but I still enjoy going there often - the staff are fun & friendly, as are the mixed crowd

Atmosphere is great in here, always busy if a little overcrowded which must be a good sign! Food is over priced for what it is! Sounds great on the menu just a little disappointing when it actually arrives. I would also check the attitude of some members of staff, the bar staff are lovely I just thought that arrogance is a most unnecessary trait to have!

The Builders Arms is my local and I go there regularly to eat. Food is usually of a good standard, the pork belly I had was certainly not undercooked. Most of the dishes are ample portions and good quality but occasionally someting turns up on the menu which isn't so good. Cod fillet last week was particularly miniscule and the side order of brocolli was a little the worse for wear. It is a very busy pub on a weekday and the staff do their best to attend to everyone promptly. I have had no problems with service whatsoever considering the demands they are under. They're always friendly too. A couple of decent ales on tap also.

I had been a couple of times before and had enjoyed the food but we were extremely disappointed with our lunch last Sunday - my pork belly was about 80% fat (not cooked properly) and the veg seemed to have been woked reheated, it was burnt at the ends and smoothered in butter.

My friends - beef was over done and the yorkshire pudding were dried out - we were really disappointed!!!

Besides that, I was delighted to find a place which served Antinori wine by the glass.

We just had an enjoyable Sunday lunch, with 4 adults...and one baby. Service was excellent and the food a high standard. Good pub atmosphere, looks better than the photo suggests.

Good food and a pub full of character, however, if you like to be served within 20 minutes of arriving I wouldn't recommend it. The chicken pie, however, is probably the best in London.
